I think Liv is intentionally inflammatory and hilariously out of touch for most “normal” people.

At the same time, as a petite woman, I definitely wish there were smaller options available at most restaurants. Sometimes food just doesn’t keep! 😂

I hate food waste. I won't buy a bagel or a cinnamon roll or a cup of ice cream and throw more than half of it out. What I prefer is making sure that the entire thing fits in my calorie budget for the week, of if it's something that I can reasonably finish later, I'll put it in my fridge.

The crazy thing about the froyo portion hack, is that many of the froyo places (near me) are DIY, pay-by-weight. Get a small cup, get a small portion, and don't waste your food or money.

Maybe its just me, but something about health advice on tiktok is so uncanny. On blogs, or YouTube, and even Facebook the health and weight management advice feels normal. On tiktok they say 'skinny' like harry potter villians. And the advice can be sound but the poses and voice make it feel like the advice is for an alien wearing a skin suit, not other humans.

My biggest issue with her is there's no volume eating or prioritizing protein, she loves sugar, flour, and alcohol, no actual calorie counting
Most people will underestimate or binge and even if not, drunkorexia doesn't age well

My issue with liv is that people keep falling gor bait.

Recently, my feed keeps being people panicking about the return of skinny and insisting everything is just as bad as the early 2000s and the 90s.

The 90s version of liv would never have told you to eat salmon for lunch.

All that said, i do find this type of person insufferable, BUT i appreciate that she seems like she does probably live some version of this. Im genuinely over abbey sharp types. At least liv says "i only eat a 1 inch dessert" and then some stupid fake deep liv ism.

I realized recently that with both sides of the consumption issue spectrum, its our parents not preparing us for the real world. I don't think that necessarily means they were always being bad parents, but like my mom was doing her best but unable to teach me balanced ways to engage with sugar. Other people's parents were like my cousin whos mom literally deprived her of all fat.

If you manage to prepare your kids for the world, they can encounter a liv schmidt and recognize it for what it is and move on.

The problem for me is less the promotion of the portion control advice and more a problem with the promotion of thin without like… muscle mass lol
