I'm here after Dave Parker's tragic passing. The world lost a hell of a baseball player, but a better human being as well.

Thank you for this. The '71 and the '79 Pirates helped make Pittsburgh a dream for a child to live in.  Wonderful team, wonderful year.

I WAS 16 WHEN THIS NOW Fall Classic took place !! FANTASTIC TIME TO BE YOUNG and ENJOYING SPORTS AS A KID growing up in the bay area !!  .....How fast these past 40 years went , TRULY !!   Also this was such a colorful WS with the uniforms !

This is great footage, The 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates are my all time favorite MLB team, I remember watching this series as a 15 year old kid and watching Omar Moreno squeeze the final out, I could go back to this time and time again,  Thank you.

This was my first World Series as a child, I was a huge Orioles fan and I'm still a huge Orioles fan. I remember coming home from the game in the back of my dad's car so upset and hurt that my birds lost especially being up 3-1 at one point. My father told me the Pirates did the same thing in the 1971 World Series beating the Orioles in game 7 in Baltimore, he said it's baseball some times you win and some times you lose.

I was 11...this World Series made me a baseball fan. I grew up in the New York area, so I am a Mets fan, but the Pirates have always been 1A with me. I finally visited Pittsburgh a few years ago and went to a Pirates game.

Stargell's performance in this entire postseason was incredible but for a 39 year old guy to win your team the title by going 4-5 with a home run in game 7 of the World Series is absolutely ridiculous. And this was in the 70s where 39 years old was like being 49 today. Just amazing. Stargell's run here isn't talked about enough.
