Interesting video and good knowledge on examining the guitar. Ignore the haters getting their shorts in a knot trying to shame you for buying a 'fake'. You explained your rationale perfectly well in the previous video and it's perfectly reasonable to buy one out of curiosity.
Thanks for sharing this guitar review. Definitely a guitar to consider buying. None of us have $10,000 to spend on a guitar. As an older beginner, 69, I'm really enjoying learning to play guitar now for about 3yrs. God bless. First time subscriber.
Got a fake D45 deluxe, I hate to say this but it sounds great. The setup was dead on and after replacing the strings I can't stop playing it. I know it's not a real Martin, but I could never pay $10,000 for a real D45. Best $260 dollars I ever spent. Sorry Martin.
Great job setting it up. I’m working on mine today to see if there’s any tweaking that needs to be done. Mine really sounds good all the way around. I’m gonna change the strings and add a Fishman VT1 pick up system to it. And by the way, I prefer not to call them fakes but rather replicas. We know that a replica is not the original. Anyone who buys one of these has to know that information and therefore the cheaper price is understood upfront. Thank u sir!
You didn’t mention making sure the fretboard itself is perfectly straight before checking fret level. If the fretboard is even slightly bowed in either direction (upward or downward) you’ll get some rocking with the straight edge.
That guitar sounds pretty good for the price and I found one on temu but...I could not find the one you are holding that has rosewood back and sides. I found a sunburst, and it is a Fake Martin 000-28ec but...it has laminate back and sides, so there is NO WAY I AM BUYING THAT!
