Sean, thank you so much for making this beautiful video and allowing me to share my story. I hope it provides inspiration to others to find their own unique journey within their photography.

@1:20 Always loved the names for groups of things, like ‘a flamboyance of flamingos’, ‘a kindness of ravens’ etc. I think we can now add ‘a forest of tripods’ 😊

My takeaway: spending 30 min on a single frame is OK. Thank you for sharing.

Wow, this is a open mind video.
Photography is not just take a picture but something more deep, see something where anyone can't see.

You may only post once a month but your videos are always worth the wait. It was a fantastic watch.

Sean just want to say thank you for always being yourself and not worrying about trends and everything else. Everytime I sit down and watch your videos, not only do I learn something from you, I honestly get lost wherever you are. I feel like there with you. The music choice is always on par with your content. Good work as always, keep it up Sean. You're one of my favorite people on Youtube and photographer. Thank you again.

I'm an amateur photographer who has been feeling more and more uninspired over the last few years. This video has renewed what I used to feel about photography. Thanks so much!

I love hearing the passion in Richard’s voice.  His images show us a little piece of his soul.  It is so inspiring but so too is your work Sean.  Your filming is so beautifully done particularly those opening sequences.  Beautifully reflective.  Thank you.

Thanks Sean for introducing me to Richard, one the most unique and inspiring landscape photographers I’ve come across in ages. Cheers, Ray.

I love printed photos 🫶🏻

This is one the most beautiful, inspirational videos I’ve seen in a very long time. Thank you both so much for making it.

Oh wow - Richard's work is beautiful.  I loved seeing the brightness in his eyes as he talked about his work and just what he enjoys photographing and why.  I love hearing those kinds of stories.

Exactly! There is not a word Richard Young said in this interview that I disagree with. My own landscape photography has developed along very similar lines. And like Richard, I'm from the UK and now live in a beautiful place - Western Canada - and I have also stopped using social media.  I used to be all about the grand vistas, and many people said that my images were beautiful. (And they were!) But I soon came to realise that the beauty contained in my images was (almost entirely) not of my creation. I was taking images of beautiful places, rather than creating beautiful images. They were images that anyone with reasonable technical competence and the will to hike up to the viewpoint for sunrise could capture. I had to tell people: I just turned up and pressed the shutter - the landscape did all the work.
Last year I went to New Zealand for the first time and yes, I shot the Wanaka Tree (although I tried something different by doing in as infrared), and a bunch of classic vistas. But it turns out that these are not my favourite images from my trip, and (with one exception) not the ones that I've published on my website. These are not the images that I found personally expressive and which spoke to my soul the loudest. Thanks for introducing me to Richard's work, Sean.

This is why I never want to go on a group tour either photographers.

It inspired me when now I've doubt on myself.

I can’t thank you enough for sharing all the hardwork that goes in making such a masterpiece ..
Brilliant one , Sean .

His passion about his work stands out.

I have been watching your videos for years and truly appreciate the amount of thought and reflection that goes into each one. You have provided some great context to photography and life.

Fortunate to be able to have travelled so far and peruse photography as a full time job for such a young guy …most many very good artists can’t afford it until late in life. Lucky you dude……

You create, for me, the most thoughtful and thought-provoking content on the web today. I never watch one of your videos without coming away with a new perspective or insight. Thank-you!
