His voice was an instrument.

Man, that voice!

For me it’s the best of Grunge…just incredible 😊

So sad that such a talented singer is just gone.

My favorite new band in the 90's. R.I.P. Layne

More AIC would be delightful for you and us

"Them Bones " should be next.

LOVE HATE LOVE Live at the Moore is a MUST WATCH. Layne is the GOAT

RIP, LAYNE!!! YOU are SO MISSED!!!  Thanks for reacting to this!!  One of my FAV BANDS: STILL!!  Oughta check out performance from The Moore of LOVE, HATE, LOVE!!  <3  HUGS from TEXAS!!!

Power, range, intonation that changes on a dime. That's Layne.

I absolutely love you both!!! You guys don't pause and rewind. You listen and read the lyrics. You are genuinely pay attention and are interested in the music. You research!!! And you give your honest opinion. ❤

This song is from Alice In Chains’ album “Dirt” and the “Singles” Movie Soundtrack which Alice In Chains was in the movie “Singles” also, this song is about the lead singer of Mother Love Bone, Andrew Wood, who died of an overdose days before the Mother Love Bone album “Apple” came out. Lastly, the sweater that Layne Staley is wearing in this video was Andrew Wood’s sweater

Jerry Cantrell (guitar/ vocals) of Alice in Chains was upset after the death of his friend Andrew Wood, lead singer of the Seattle band Mother Love Bone in 1990 from a he+++n OD (Chris Cornell of Soundgarden wrote and recorded an entire album 'Temple of the Dog'... mourning his friend Andrew Wood) ... Cantrell recalled at the time that people passed harsh judgement on Andrew Wood for dying from he+++n and he wrote the lyrics trying to explain that the guy made a mistake - he never meant to end his life but he was caught up in an addiction.

Sadly, Alice in Chains singer Layne Staley was also grappling w/ he+++n addiction by the early 90's it would take his life by 2002... Bassist Mike Starr was abusing he+++n as well and he was fired from AiC in early 1993; he passed away years later in 2011 from a prescription drug OD.

Layne and Chris Cornell.....the goats of grunge.  Gotta check out Them Bones and Like a Stone by Audioslave.

love hate love love at the moore. Layne Staleys voice and performance are legend

I had to sub. I’m originally from Georgia. Layne’s voice was its own instrument. Jerry’s guitar sang its own parts to songs. Mike’s bass had its own parts as well. They were incredible

I'm a drummer, and this song is way more complex than you think? Think about everything he is hitting?  It all has to be in perfect time guys!!!!! I wish you listened to the isolated drum track? You would think different!!!!

Rooster was his dad's nickname in Vietnam. He's a red head.

Layne Stayley rocked

Loved watching y’all’s reactions. This is my all time favorite band and favorite singer, Layne. Look forward to watching more from y’all!
