Car Seat Headrests Twin Fantasy is  maybe the best concept album about a situationship. written by a 17 year old, is a real masterpiece and I think you’d love it

I will always admire how they managed to put a song about toxic love, which repeats the word love so much it feels as if it almost loses meaning... and then goes straight into one of the most beautiful love songs I've ever heard, ever written.

That incredible guitar work in the background on Little Things is all Buck Meek. I absolutely love Buck, and his signature style of introducing the most tasteful dissonances in just the right places.

You will enjoy the earlier Big Thief albums and Adrianne's solo career. Check out the song, Sadness as a Gift from her album last year.

12,000 lines and dried roses are so beautiful

Title track is absolutely insane. Folk masterpiece

My interpretation of the title track is that it’s about Adrianne’s relationship with her mom.

The “new warm mountain” is a pregnant belly.

“When the top soil
Is kicking up into the storm
And the dust goes dancing
And a billion planets are born”

is the most brilliant lyricism about conception I’ve ever read.

“There's a dragon in thе phone line
Coughing up a mighty flame
With a tonguе of silver, silver
Calling out my oldest name
She says, ‘Hey, you
Do you remember me too?
We were coiling’ “

Beautiful way to capture the tenuous relationship and the eternal bond mothers and their children share. “We were coiling”

“I believe in you, even when you need to recoil”

That song makes me cry and I’ve got a great relationship with my mom, lol

You are going to cry like a baby when you hear their song Masterpiece

Quite the mark. This album made me stand up straight and really recognize her songwriting and lyricism. I’ll be listening hard from here on in. Genius level shit.

This made me rediscover how in love I was with this album all over again, as well as how much I hate it for making me sob so often

1:06:00 - "Oh mirror in the sky, what is love?"

Simulation Swarm is one of the best songs of the 2020s, full stop. I have NO CLUE what the song is about in the slightest, and that's part of what I love so much about it.

My favorite album of the last decade or more. Just brilliant. Adrianne is the best songwriter working imo. Funny enough, Phish and Big Thief are my two favorite bands.

This album nails the balance of being cohesive and all over the place.

That super tasty guitar solo on Blue Lightning is all Buck Meek!! I think you’re gonna love his solo work, Walterooski!! 🎶✌️

omg omg sooo excited for "for the first time" I legit search for reactions weekly

Another good one Walt, my favorite part of the whole album is also, “that’s my grandma!!”

Hell yeah (waiting for more Dylan)

THATS MY GRANDMA

All those great reverby guitar squeals and crafty leads on “Love, Love, Love” are the keen handiwork of Buck Meek!!⚡️His unique style and sonic signature can be found throughout his solo work, and on many Big Thief songs as well. And it’s all deliberately composed to create that ethereal tension and dissonance. I’ve seen him perform live on 6 different occasions (3 times with Big Thief, and 3 times as a solo artist), and he consistently reproduces the sounds live with his guitar and his hands. He’s incredibly talented!!

In fact, Walterooski, I’m officially recommending that you check out Buck Meek’s solo work. He’s released 2 full albums so far: “Two Saviors” and “Haunted Mountain”. Both are fantastic, but it might be best to listen to them in order. Hopefully you could do an album review on YouTube! 😀

Love this album so much. Saw them twice while they were touring this album, as well as Buck Meek before his recent album. All of their previous stuff and her split stuff especially is amazing. Their first album is much more indie-rock but it’s got some great songs still. Then every album after they’ve moved more towards the folk and country sound.

Adjacently, since you like this and Dylan, John Prine must be on your radar
