Cult Pens March 2026 Stationery Mystery Box Unboxing

I bought the March Cult Pens Stationery Mystery Box again this year — and this time the box cost £160, and the contents came to roughly £359 RRP!

The mystery stationery box had a mix of premium writing instruments, fountain pen ink, a Montblanc notebook, and a couple of fun Easter-themed stationery extras. So if you enjoy stationery surprises, fountain pens, and seeing whether these boxes genuinely deliver good value, this one should be interesting.

As always with stationery mystery boxes, the value looks great on paper, but whether it’s really worth it depends on whether you actually like and will use what’s inside. That’s part of the fun — and part of the gamble.

A few questions for you...
Would you pay £160 for a stationery mystery box?
Which item would you most want to receive?
Do you think this box was worth it?

Let me know in the comments :)

The Schaefer box says FP M on the end. Fountain pen, medium nib.

My anxiety is through the roof! Using an £80 notebook to swatch in 🫣 😂😂

This was definitely my favourite box from them to date. None of the 'one weird colour marker pen and green ink biro' random bits and bobs we've seen in many of them. It felt very cohesive and thought out, and even grown up in a way despite the couple of little Easter bits which are still fun. It felt like this was a set of things that go together and you'd actually use. That notebook is still selling on the Montblanc site, for £100 😐 Will be the only thing of theirs I ever own for sure, but wow that was quite a surprise. I love these boxes for giving me things I'd never choose for myself (or afford in this case) and getting to try them.

I was thrilled to receive my 1st mystery box today, and purposely didn't search for any spoilers prior to opening it. Overall, really pleased with the contents, but like yourself was surprised (and mildly disappointed) to receive the Kaweco Ballpoint pen that was presented in a fountain pen tin. - The Montblanc Notebook is lovely, but WOW that's expensive! Overall though.. REALLY pleased with my purchase.
Enjoyed watching your unboxing / review. thank you

The red tip on the pens is to keep them from drying out. I leave mine on until I’m ready to use it. They are very pretty colors. Thank you for sharing your box.

Thanks for sharing! I got this mystery box because you showed the contents and I liked all the items - yay!

Don’t forget to write the brand name on your swatches so you remember who makes the pens

That Dude pen is rather stylish 😍😍

Interesting that there is actually no bleed-through on the notebook that I can see. Feathering is what happened with the fine liner dots but I don’t see any ink come out the backside of the page and there is a wee bit of ghosting but no actual bleeding.

Kaweco = Ka-veh-ko
😊

I got the purple kaweco sleeve, the same ink, a green pentel pencil. I knew that the montblac notebooks didn't like fountain pen much which is disappointing given who they're made by, so I will likely pass that on to a friend. I never would have bought the Shaffer but it's a nice pen, just a bit scratchy.

Since you like the Kaweco fountain pen but aren't keen on the plastic, I do recommend their brass or aluminium versions. They're a much nicer tactile effect.

I got my box today, got a different colour ink same make and a purple Kaweco cult pens case, so almost the same ! I love Cult Pens mystery boxes.

I can't resist mystery boxes but I am often disappointed - not with this one, though, I absolutely loved it. I was thrilled to get a Montblanc notebook (most of the sites I looked at had it at £100). I liked both fountain pens, although I think I preferred the OHTO Dude. I loved the Faber Castell fineliners in their tin and will use the legami Easter pens; I have promised a friend the egg. I guess in the end the only drawback for me was the mechanical pencil - but then I just do not them like at all so it's not really Cult Pen's fault 😂. About the ink, I'm afraid, I was just rather snobbish. I got a pinky red called My Heart Is, which is a tiny part of one line from the film Sense & Sensibility, although thankfully they don't try and pass it off as a Jane Austen quote

Looks like a really interesting box and worth the money but it's shocking that the Montblanc paper isn't fountain pen friendly given the price and given that the brand is very well known for its fountain pens.

Your light on your table, what is it called? I live in 🇨🇦 so will need to search for it. Great mystery box

Like all Montblanc products, that notebook is vastly overpriced for a non FP friendly paper. What I expect from MB.

Sheaffer (Shay-fer not Shee-fer) are always good. I have over 30 Sheaffers and they are a mainstay.

Kaweco are not a favourite of mine (Ka-vay-co). I dint have any Spirts to use one of those piuches though it could be used for one of the many other pocket pens.
