Sorry for the delay, been sick but back now. You've seen mine now show us yours, what's your take on Zach Cregger's Resident Evil? What's it good at, what's it bad at?

Thank you all for 73.3k subs!

i dont think he ever knew nix even existed lol

“But they do so hunt a letter to death, that they make it Crambe, and Crambe bis positum mors est”  George Gascoigne in speaking about writers who overuse alliteration. That’s how I feel about comedy in these movies. “Cabbage served twice is death”

The monster combining reminds me of Cronos the New Dawn

anything with feeling by a director, let's say they where never a gamer or a fan of video games

Such a shame it went from actually scary to just random attempts at humor, but at least its not the blast that is wolverine.

Tbh I prefer no Resident Evil movies at all; enough with scripts bought with the brand name plastered on them. Well, actually the main problem is Constantin Film, which has held the rights to the franchise since 1997. At least S.D Perry does a better job in adapting the games and expading with new stories

5:56 my guy is worried about offending the botted algorithm. notifications turned off. lets see if i’m still a sub before this video ends.

If they'd have made it a little more serious and had a few extra characters this would've been a perfect sequel for... The Thing... with easter eggs for Resident Evil.

Instead, it's a pretty good parody of Resident Evil with a few easter eggs that are pretty good references to the games.

As a fan, I wish it were a better adaptation.  As a movie person, it's fine, I genuinely think the first act is great, then he gets to Raccoon City proper, the humor is a little too obnoxious (from everyone else and the lead) and I kinda just wish it was a 30 minute short.

My opinion, didn't hate it, didn't love it, best Resident Evil live action but that bar is very very low.

I just so BADLY want them to make a good Resident Evil movie, with proper character portrayals, proper use of the RE story/lore, and the amazing settings of Raccoon City or Spencer Mansion.

Put simply, this movie is... Fine, but not good as an RE adaptation.

About Brian:
1) Couriers that transport body organs and such, are not the same as DoorDashers. Most of those transport require special certification and refrigerated devices to keep those within certain temperatures to avoid damage/contamination/decomposition. And the receive/delivery points are designated. Not handled as fast food. Plus, it would've been handled by a Umbrella professionals in this case. Already the 1st scene was bs to me.
2) I understand that the line he says to his girlfriend is famous for being used by pro-abortion ppl, he never suggested her to abort the baby. But I did notice that this scene was used to give us a profile view. He works at a delivery job that pays relatively good. He lives with his girlfriend, but he is very passive and does not have ANY goals/ambition. He represents a certain demographic. But he did not acted as someone who hates the idea of family. He just is very indecisive, would avoid taking big decisions/responsibility if given the chance. but he is not evil. In fact, after bumping the lady, he shows a certain sense of responsibility that many wouldn't.
3) He is shown to be so, so, so incompetent...an idiot. the kind that is not inherently a bad person. He kept asking stupid questions with obvious answers. But then, by the time he entered the first house, I didn't care if he died. I was just curious how the story would developed, but disconnected most sense of worry. And thought of what would I do as things were progressing...like not even bothering entering the RV.
4) The moment he decided to hug the girl, I figured he is the type who would die by his beloved persons-turned-into-zombie, that appear in almost every zombie story. As soon as he was bitten, I acknowledge his death which made sense.
5) Him covering himself, when noticing he was being watched thru a security camera...I understood as him trying to hide his already showing body marks as being infected.
6) His final scene was kind of him having an epic finale. He pretty much "died" in different ways since the girl: Being shot by Maxine(witness completed his role), tentacles would've grabbed him right about the 3rd time he tried to reach car keys, the rats caught him, the stairs were safe(but probably transformed by the time he reached floor 24), barfing acid liquid on him, fell from the elevator, got his armed barfed when he attempted to use that baldy on other monster, he failed his last 9mm shot and got attacked by his cartwheel Mr X.

Zach really just shot himself in the foot with those interviews. He could've easily just done his own thing and said it was inspired by various RE games, but for some reason, perhaps money, he went incredibly specific instead and set himself up for failure.

I really enjoyed this movie, but I am NOT surprised this hit divisively.

Barbarian is the same, the first part is good, the middle is meh, and the last third is straight up 🫏, it becomes a comedy out of nowhere.

Certain things about:
1)I haven't seen all of the interviews, but taking as an example the questions he makes about Mr X, seems kinda stupid. Of course, if RE2 Remake was his 1st time seeing anything RE related, then I would think of him as one who knows less than casuals. Chances are, he doesn't know about the G-virus is, even after playing that game.
2)I have been in places in USA were there is no cellphone signal. Also it is expected during different types of storm to lose signal. I wouldn't be surprised if that would be sabotaged in Raccoon City....somehow.
3)In the movie the "virus" was described as a chemical that was designed/supposed to be better than the SuperSoldier serum. But after an accident it mutated into something else. In other words, it was not a virus in the first place. From what we see in the movie, once infected, a parasite will grow and act independently over you. Eventually absorbing you. You don't die of covid and then turn into a zombie.
4)Having a branch umbrella lab "hidden" on top of a 28 fl hospital building was believable. It has a rooftop(helipad) to conveniently transport important stuff in/out. But some ppl thought it was Umbrella Headquarters, and that idea does not make sense. It would be somewhere far from the labs.
5)the scientists reminded me of those from the Independence Day movie. Super brilliant/overly motivated in their subject, but being closed from society to a point they lost societal tact on many things. And of course, they ended the same.
6) I wondered, if the infected never attacked their kind, when they would ignore Brian? Just like the girl's mother never bother to kill her after biting her foot.

3:08 Does he not know Mr. X was sent by Umbrella to hunt down specific people due to being a bioweapon? Does he think the guy just randomly mutated in to a jacked trenchcoat zombie during the outbreak? That's an error I expect from someone who doesn't know what a Resident Evil is, but I thought the entire point of him constantly talking about his familiarity with the series was that he was familiar with the series.

There has to be some sort of mass psychosis or maybe Zach knows actual magic because his movies were mediocre but endlessly praised. Now he releases Resident Evil: Sharknado with more cringe and less comedy and critics (not the usual shills) who should have torn this movie to shreds are praising it. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills...

A: It definitely is a variant of a virus, possibly mixed with T & G making it reminding us of the Las Plagas. A reinforcing factor that it has something to do with G-Virus is the little girl, and the play of it being T-Virus being how it does get spread through other methods. Also how Bryan at the end was mirroring William Birkin.
B: I don't know why it needed to be in 2026, I think that does take away a bit of the atmosphere. Even early 2000's would've been better. Leading in to making this an offshoot story where its 2010's and a new virus is being tested
C: RE:9 sets up the cure, so the scientists making the mistakes they did was a little odd as they're Umbrella Scientists
D: In RE: Revelations you get to shoot padlocks open :)

Finally it does set up sequels so we will have to see what happens.

I'll be honest, the Umbrella critque kinda falls apart for me when in game they are constantly shown to be completely moronic when it comes to anything that isn't science. These are the same guys who said "I'm poking this creature to see what happens" followed by "It escaped" in multiple notes through the games. The lack of empathy they have too is shown pretty obviously in terms of the scientists as they constantly throw one another under the bus. I agree with the humor being a bit much at points though.
