212k starting point for the b&o 90’s. Can reach excess of 250k a pair. Emphasis on excess.

Would love for you to test the fives too. Soon to be 25 years old. But a legendary speaker for sure!

I just heard these today at Bjiorns Audio n Video in SA Texas, they were so amazing. I heard a lot of speakers in the last 50 years, these were the top 5 ever and I have heard million dollars systems. I just couldnt get enough and they were not fatiguing at all. I just loved the tunes, super clear, transparent, musical if thats even a thing, you just hear the music and the speaker adds nothing takes nothing away, I heard 15hz notes never having heard any thing about them, I didnt believe I was really hearing 15 hz notes, but alas, tonight I was checking them out and yeah, they can play that low, nuts. Love it. for 80grand, you cant beat them lol. The bass notes were rippled like you can hear the vibrations super clear and flat bass curve no doubt. Just impressive. I can see why they sounded so good, having a 300 watt amp for every driver, thats insanity in the best of ways. Wish I could have some.

Future is multispeakers and aggressive dsps

Now that you’ve added the Beolab 50s, would you ever consider doing a video on your entire B&O setup — Theatre, 50s and 8s — as a complete system? Your original Theatre review understandably focused mostly on the Theatre itself, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on it as the hub of a full B&O surround system.

I know it's a digital illustration at 2:13, but did they really spell "S/PDIF" wrong on the back panel of these $80k speakers?

Honestly, I’ve become a B&O fan late in my audio journey. I’ve been an audiophile since 1995 and just got turned on to B&O since 2025. What i would LOVE to see, appears almost impossible in any B&O store I’ve visited. More specifically, I’d like any of the speakers you show, 8’s, 28’s 50’s to be shown for optimum musical reproduction, as specified in the technical guides written by B&O. More specifically, the 50’s should be 3’ out from the front wall, and at least the same from the side walls. Shoving those 50’s in the corners, and up close, presents a physics problem acoustically that cannot be overcome by DSP. Then both your 8’s and 28’s are shoved against the wall. Sigh…. Coming from a purist 2 channel background, it breaks my heart when i see any speaker shoved against a wall, or placed in a corner. B&O has magical DSP, but they can’t overcome the kind of ‘lifestyle’ speaker placement i see in B&O stores. It blows my mind that anyone would spend $80k for a pair of 50’s, and then shove them in a corner. Spend an afternoon, mic them in your corner placement, then place them using the B&O Technical Guide for the 50’s as your reference, mic them, and listen to the difference. Yes, I have done this personally. Your ears will open up a world of musical joy and engagement that seems absent from the ‘lifestyle’ placement I’ve witnessed in several B&O stores….

I'll just keep going back to "the only person who has to care about...fill in the blanks...is you". So happy you have found your mojo with the B&O setup. We have just moved...for (I can only guess) many of the reasons you and Kristi have gone all-in on your B&O setup. Nothing sad or heart-wrenching for us, just finally decided to do what "we wanted to do" from a living (location) perspective. And, since I left all of my "traditional" home theater equipment with the old house, I get to start over. And, having listened to your passion for B&O over the years, I'm seriously leaning this way. Probably not the 50s, but maybe the Theatre, 28s and 8s...hmmm. It seems that even though I don't live in a city with a B&O presence, other "stores" can help me get the B&O equipment I "want". Cheers to another great video!
