I used to think this way too. Then I realized canonically all the best ships are part of core world defense fleets. Theres a reason the CIS never attacked Kuat, Corellia, or any other planet with a significant shipyard.

Those worlds possessed Mandator dreadnoughts, it’s just post Ruusan they weren’t allowed a hyperdrive that could leave the sector.

And then a heavy frigate that looks like a horseshoe crab gets destroyed by a turbo laser beam shot from a giant triangle and that same giant triangle severely damages a flagship with turbo laser cannon fire after passing by like watching pirates of the Caribbean wooden sailing ships. The crew onboard each giant triangle ship is excited to get scores with its dangerous giant dual turbo laser turrets

Why didn't the Empire, or the Rebellion for that matter, utilize Federation technology? Because apparently, according to the prequels and CW show, they had nearly impenetrable shields, disable an entire fleet at scale ion weapons, and arguably the best space fighters produced, the droid tri-fighter. Not to mention commando droids who could match and fight Jedi masters to at least a standstill. Yet, no one thought to use any of that whatsoever. As much as I love SW, the technology issues created by writers who really lack any imagination, or who don't bother to read previous entries, have been stacking up now for years. And it's getting to be more and more difficult to suspend disbelief and just enjoy the stories.
