I see you 😂

The biggest caveat here is that Shadowlands was obviously never meant to be a "saga finale" like Endwalker. None of the marketing pre-launch ever gave that idea. They only pivoted into that mid-expansion AFTER Endwalker came out and was so successful. None of the groundwork was laid beforehand and yet Acti-Blizz still wanted to reap the fruits of an un-earned epic conclusion.

In Endwalker when u give the garlean some soup, and it breaks him. That part broke me

Endwalker: Oh, you're a villain all right, just not a super one.
Shadowlands: Oh yea? What's the difference?
Endwalker: Presentation!

Jailer: 'I will rewrite reality for some random reason.' Endsinger: 'My heart is broken.'

The way FF14 did the "stronger than the 'final' boss" trope so well. It was that moment when Zodiarc shows up in front of you and your like "this is only lvl 83!", and then after thinking about it a little, you start remembering the fact that they have been telling you the fact that Zodiarc was summoned to stop something since the beginning. Not Zodiarc going on a monologue about a bigger baddy out there, but it has been fed to us for a whole expansion and a half, and coming to that realization was perfect for me.

I remember when Hermes said "I will never serve" and shot Endsinger with a bow. Truly one of the villains ever made.

As jesse more or less stated in the video, the big takeaway from endsinger vs jailer is that the endsinger didn't retcon or undermine anything we'd experienced until that point
It put a name and a target on everything we'd fought for and everyone we'd fought against: hermes fucked up, meteion began her song, zodiark was created to block out her song, hydaelyn was created to keep zodiark in check, the star was sundered, the ascians began rejoining shards, fast forward to the seventh calamity taking place, our story begins, fast forward to shadowbringers, lore bombs galore, now we're in EW, we finally understand everything thanks to emet and venat and elidibus and we thus defeat the endsinger
Yes there's way more in-between involved and whether you agree with those responsible is up for debate per player, but. . .

But WoW, dear god
Not only was there zero buildup or explanation for the jailer being the mastermind, but making the jailer the mastermind behind EVERYTHING from square one to current with zero steps taken to make sense for him being the cause of everything from where he is in the shadowlands, while also screwing over the character development of countless others, from sylvanas to ARTHAS, FUCKING ARTHAS, it's a spit in the face for everyone involved, and then, AND THEN, they had the fucking gall to pull a "you fools I was just trying to save/prepare you for the real problem that's coming after me!" with the jailer after all that

Baine was the smart one. He just sat in Oribos and waited for the next expansion and refused to play.

I just finished ARR (again after 9 years) and Thancred being defined as a chivalrous pervert is actually accurate. There's a time in ARR where he was actually caught by his multiple women in the Rising Stones lmao so yeah while he is chivalrous enough, he is kind of a pervert as well

To be fair Hermes empethy is also his downfall, if you're overcome with empethy you become useless unable to make the hard decisions and in your effort to help everyone you help no one. While the other amirotians were to callous to their creations Hermes was far to empathetic. Infact azim seemingly was the most balanced of the amirotians who tried their hardest to help everyone they can but wasn't crippled by the empethy and sorrow for those they can't.

I never thought Jesse Cox would make me cry

I never much cared about the story of WoW simply because it didn't care for me. For instance, expansion after expansion I interacted with people like Jaina, and each next expansion she acted like she had never seen me before. "Hero, are you here to help?"
But then I started playing Dragonflight, and I tell you, I was shocked when Alexstrasza said something like, "Ah, friend, it's good to see you again."
Such a little difference can make you feel for the story and characters so much more. But (until now) Wow just never cared.

Chivalrous Pervert fits ARR Thancred so much. They made him seem like such a playboy at the start before making him into a Minfilia simp and Dadcred.

This was all part of the Jailer's plan. He wanted players to once again feel what it's like when a developer cares about them, and so he planned to inspire the creation of FF14 and the eventual rebirth of it so that the players of WoW would find a game that once again cared about them. We must thank the Jailer for bringing FF14 to WoW players so that they'd know what it's like to be cared about again.

You're forgetting that during Shadowlands, there was apparently a massive undead invasion going on on Azeroth the entire time we're away. The only time we see it is during a single side quest.

Endwalker came out after the worst breakup in my life and was my single thread of hope when i couldn't keep the tears from falling. 14 had been such an inspiration to me and taught me so many morales. When my brother just passed on the 3rd of this month i instead of feeding their grief had the piano version of tomorrow and tomorrow play at a point in his service. He was an au ra samurai who stopped at the gate of amaurot so i decided have the same song that played after that point, where all shb fans get uplifted after that sad scene be the backdrop of some serious spirit uplifting. And it worked.. 14 is just incredible with its attentiveness to life and how the devs know what it is to have life suck and they dont sugar coat it. But they also know that the smallest things can be enough to JUST keep somebody clinging to hope. That a small song can extinguish a portion of despair in your heart... love this react video so much. You always get me right back into the mood to play some 14 zepla 😊

I just finished Endwalker last night, literally last night. And I got to do the Endsinger fight with a full group of actual friends I'd made along the way while playing, A friend I'd made while dungeon grinding to level a tank, my FC friends, real life friends, friends I'd made because they were friends of my friends. It was literally the perfect send off for the end of the story.

I played WoW for ten years, and never once did the game make me feel like anyone cared about me the player or my character once. Never. The closest you get is Wrathion remembering you if you were a rogue and being a longer quest chain through the expansions basically. That's the one example I can think of, otherwise people never remember you even a little. And its so stupid. I don't care, honestly, if WoW improves with Dragonflight or whatever, they burned the bridge for me and Square Enix gave me a crystal bridge to something so, SO much better.

I didnt expect to bawl my eyes out when i clicked on this reaction video but oh my god

1:43 Zepla with the "little sister trying to get her big brother to play with her" energy 🤣
