● Description
It's time for me to be educated on Mega Drive / Genesis and Super Nintendo games. I was never a big console gamer, Marc didn't own the systems first time around.... perhaps he can teach me what he has learned about the must have games for the systems from his collection.

A collector that actually plays his games. Refreshing!

Sega Genesis will always have a special place in my heart. ToeJam and Earl was a bonding moment between my brother and I- I haven't forgotten how special that was.

Chrono trigger. One of best games ever made.

Great episode Neil. I personally love the Genesis better than the SNES, but they are both good systems.

Great video mate. I love looking at genuine collections of people just wanting to play games, for the love of the games.
I do own SNES and games, but I was brought up on SEGA.

My Timeline...
ZX Spectrum to Master System, Megadrive, 286 PC, Sega Saturn, PS1, DreamCast then onto the more current systems.... and of course the modern PC.

My top 3 MegaDrive... 1. Sensible Soccer, 2. Streets of Rage 2, 3. Thunder Force IV

Thanks for a really great video mate, always welcome to check out the collection.

Virtua Racing cost £100 when it was originally released.

Ooooh the Commodore balloon! One of the things that got me into coding. It was also hilarious replacing the commodore logo with... less family-friendly imagery XD

Its really hard for me to do a top 3 for either system because there really are so many great games on both, put that alongside all the nostalgia i have for so many of those games, some that might not be the greatest but i love all the same and it becomes pretty much impossible for me.

Marc seems like a nice guy and the happiest man in the world, he never stopped smiling... must be all those games! 😁 I never owned a console either, but I used love playing Street Fighter 2 on the SNES at my mate house. And what was his name? Mark! 😆😆😆

MD: Ghouls 'N Ghosts, Sonic 1. SNES: Mario Kart, Super Mario World, Chrono Trigger and Earthbound. Nice to see someone who is really into old games, regardless of how old they were at the time. It's the passion that counts. I started on a C64 myself so high-five for that, though that was in the 80s but anyone who started on a C64 is okay by me. :P Also, a legit copy, complete in box of Earthbound is just ridiculously expensive. It's just one of those games.

Hey Neil, I'm gonna be having a late spring clear out of stuff to keep me on the good side of Mrs Pierre Von Staines (I quite like having all my fingers and toes intact). You're welcome to have them if you want to swing by on your next Retro Road Trip. Let me know and I'll give you a rough idea of what there is lurking in the garage. Ta

That green and white transformer that showed up on a shelf for a moment, i remember that one.

Final Fantasy II (SNES) is actually Final Fantasy IV and got a PAL realease on the PS1 in FF anthology European Edition (along with FF V which was Japan Only).
FFIII (SNES) was actually FF VI and got a stand alone PS1 release in PAL regions

The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past had a big box release in Sweden around the end of SNES lifespan. It's one of the more expensive releases, I think it's worth around 2000-2500 USD.

Can't believe I've been chatting to Marc on the RMC Discord for the past 6 months and hadn't even seen his Retro Road Trip!

Awesome collection and great to see someone so enthusiastic and passionate about the hobby too. 👍

Neil, as a Sensi/SWOS fanboy, I fully agree with your feeling towards FIFA.

I had a big-box version of SNES Super Bomberman Party Pak (PAL), which included the Hudson Super Multitap.. That was the largest retail box game I had back in the day, and was very shiny and impressive at the time!
