i would give up any information if i were tortured with playing OG RE4 on my phone

Zeebo honestly sounds like a fake video game console they invented to avoid copyright issues for a Disney sitcom where the characters are just mashing buttons like gorillas on cocaine. It even has recolored RE4 copy to avoid further issues!

How many RE4?
Capcom : yes.

That art is THIRSTY. Never seen Leon that tan in my life

ALTHOUGH the ps2 version DID look inferior to the GameCube's version, i JUST FOUND OUT that you could ENHANCE THE VIDEO QUALITY by activating "Progressive Scan Mode" by holding down "Triangle + X" on the  Ps2 startup screen when the animation plays. just hold those 2 buttons down all the way til you see the option appear to activate it. This bumps the quality up to 480p. I'm STILL learning new things about this nearly TWENTY YEAR OLD GAME 🤦‍♂️

Th Wii version was my introduction to RE

Some removed dialogue from the Quest 2 version:

(Leon and Ashley jump into the garbage pit and land on garbage)

Ashley: "Are you insane?!"
Leon: "I knew you'd be fine if you landed on your butt."

There are actually a TON of differences between the gamecube and everything after due to things getting lost in the porting process. Did you know the Merchant originally had different death animations depending on the weapon you used on him? This was actually lost in ALL other versions of the game and he uses the same basic animation instead. Like if you shot him with a shotgun he would go flying. If you threw a grenade he would spin in the air horizontally before landing on the ground like Leon does when he gets hit by something hard. When hit with the mine thrower darts or a rocket launcher, his body gets obliterated, just like a regular Ganado. There's also other things that were lost in other versions, mostly visual things, such as a depth of field effect with the sniper scope. Interestingly, the PS2 version is ACTUALLY based off of the EU Gamecube version. while most of these changes were brought over to later editions, one of them, a Novistador put into the supply room near the cage section of the castle, was removed in all later versions. Gamecube version also had a scrapped Novistador introduction cutscene trigger you could find in the sewers by going out of bounds. You can still go out of bounds in most other ports, but the cutscene trigger was completely removed.

RE4 autist here and currently autistic too it’s one of my interests I can’t let go of but a FUN FACT: the game had an unused animation that has Leon pushback against the chainsaw guy and live with one hp much like the art would show with Leon trying to push off the chainsaw, but it was disabled but can be reenable and after 90 FPS the chainsaw guy can’t kill you because that animation will happen every time

Started on the Gamecube.  It was a gift from a friend back in 2006.

The Wii version was my first experience with RE4 and to this day is still my favorite. I’ve played every port since then.

A “Brief History” video that’s actually brief?? Oh this is going to cook

OG RE4 was the GTA V of games back then, being ported to every single console available

Worth mentioning that starting with the PS2 version, they also rebalanced a few of the weapons. Of the top of my head:
-Blacktail exclusive firepower increased
-Riot Gun fire rate reduced
-Rifle exclusive firepower increased (to 30!)
-Semi-auto Rifle exclusive fire rate decreased
-Mine Thrower explosions are much faster
-Can't prove it, but it really feels like the suplex does quite a bit less damage

I also wanted to point out some of the weird censorship in the VR version. "Ballistics" "overtime" and Leon's asking Hunnigan on a date were obvious, but they strangely cut out the line where Hunnigan tells Leon she was getting worried and he responds with "Don't you mean lonely?" There's also one line of text dialogue that was censored near the beginning of the game. If you examine the female corpse pinned to the wall, the text reads "Looks like there's no sex discrimination here. Better find her fast." This was changed to something like "Looks like no one is safe around here. Better find her fast." Despite those changes, I believe the "I knew you'd be fine if you landed on your butt" line is still in the game, so I don't know what they were thinking with any of this. Even removing the ballistics line causes the scene to make no sense because Ashley's hostility towards Luis comes out of nowhere.

@9:25 I've played every official port of OG re4 and let me tell you Wii edition is without question the best version. It includes all the bonus content of the ps2 version, visuals of the gc version, motion controls along with standard controls. The motion controls do make aiming easier and swinging the nunchuk to use your knife also streamlines combat but there are also more enemies on screen at once to accommodate for this. If you haven't played it yet I implore you to give it a try, you will not regret it.

I’ve played the VR version. Being in VR gives the game a whole new feel it’s pretty awesome

I even remember back in the day when Resident Evil 4 was announced and coming out that Capcom and Nintendo were saying their new big game that is going to be one of the best games ever released was going to be EXCLUSIVELY on Gamecube, forever.  It would not be released on other consoles, and I remember in high school thinking "that is such a dumb business decision and a bad move if you want the game to sell."  I thought that they're probably trying to do it to sell more Gamecubes, but even myself, who was a huge gamer and had all the Nintendo consoles up til that point (but no Gamecube yet), thought it was done locking such a big game to one console like that.

Imagine my surprise when not even a year later they released RE4 on the Playstation 2, I picked up that game so dang fast and played it throughout the summer when I sas off of school. I played it nonstop until I unlocked everything, I knew the PS2 version was graphically inferior to the Gamecube version, I just had no clue HOW bad it was because I had no frame of reference besides screenshots in magazines or clips on TV.  The PS2 version is still my favorite version to play though.

I remember it took me forever to unlock that stupid PRL 142 gun though on PS2.

The vr version of resident evil 4 in my opinion is such an amazing port, both of adas campaigns arent in the game. However stuff was added to such as challenges and gold camos for each guns with doing certain challenges for mercenaries. You could even change your laser color or disable it entirely. The shotgun and riot shotgun had normal shotgun feel to it. You could reload guns exactly how you would in real life. The way the game felt in vr was truly amazing. I really do recommend people try it

I will die on the hill that the Wii version is the best and most fun way to play this title, and no one can convince me otherwise!

There were balance changes and tweaks made in every version of RE4 after the GameCube original, usually making certain weapons more powerful when upgraded. However, there were no changes made to the Wii version in terms of balance that weren't already present in the PS2 version.
