25:44 Maltese is basically what happened when Italian and Arabic had a baby

Lithuanian and Latvian are Baltic languages, not Slavic.
The largest language families in Europe are Germanic, Romance, and Slavic. Other notable groups include the Finno-Ugric languages, the Baltic languages, and the Celtic languages. Additionally, there are individual languages such as Greek, Albanian, Basque, Turkish and a few smaller ones.

- North Germanic: Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Icelandic, Faroese

--- Western Slavic: Polish, Czech, Slovak
--- Southern Slavic: Bulgarian, Macedonian, Slovenian, BCMS (Bosnian-Croatian-Montenegrin-Serbian, either one language or multiple languages depending on who you ask)
IV. Celtic subfamily
- Goidelic: Irish, Scottish Gaelic
- Brythonic: Welsh
V. Hellenic subfamily: Greek
VI. Albanian
VII. Armenian

2. Uralic family (specifically the Finno-Ugric subfamily)

I believe many of you misunderstood my aim here. This is an oversimplified version of the main languages in Europe. It is not intended as a scientific paper nor as a comprehensive one.
If any of you have the time to improve it and complete it and you think that a plethora of 200 languages is useful to someone who just begin to comprehend the differences between them (from what I've seen from her reaction), feel free to make that list. Personally I believe it will be more noise than information but that's just me.

This is one of the reasons we laugh out loud when Americans think Europe is just 1 single country

Romansch (Rumantsch) is one of the four official languages of Switzerland, although only a relatively small number of people speak it (around 60,000) in the canton of Grisons / Graubünden.

1. Slovakia is in central Europe surrounded by Czech rep., Poland, Ukraine, Hungary and Austria
2. Many languages may seem the same because there are many Slavs
Western Slavs are Czech rep. Slovakia and Poland
Eastern Slavs are Ukraine Belarus and russia
South Slavs are Bulgaria and the countries of the former Yugoslavia (which literally means South Slavs) i.e. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia and Serbia

This was the most known languages here in Europe. In total it's about 225 languages here.

14:44 even though Russia and Lithuania are near each other Lithuanian is baltic language (like Latvian) and Russian, Ukrainian (and many others like Serbian) are Slavic languages

"This reminds me of Finnish"

You're not wrong there, since Estonian and Finnish are closely related languages. Alongside Hungarian, they belong to a whole another language family than all the other languages spoken in Europe.

16:25 fun fact about Belorusian is that it's more similar to Ukrainian but people there mostly speak Russian more than  their own language.

The Irish word fro Green (“glas”) is the Welsh word for Blue (“glas”)

21:28  Serbian is actually much more similar to Croatian than Slovenian. Slovenes can understand about 70-80 percent of Serbo-Croatian, but Serbs and Croats can only understand about 20-30 percent of Slovenian. Slovenian language has much more complicated grammatical rules and sentence structure plus a lot of words are totally different than the rest of Slavic languages.

It's an English accent. "British" refers to the whole United Kingdom. England is where English comes from.

pause the video when you're commenting because we can't hear a word of what you're saying as it's drowned by the video audio !

Romansh has a very unique sound to it. For me it almost sounds like a german pronunciation (hardness), but using a mix of italian and french words.

Czech and Slovak are similar languages, if speak one understand other and little bit understand Polish also , some words are same in Russian, and other Slavic Languages

Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin basically sound almost the same. We can understand each other perfectly. Slovenian is a bit different but I can understand and and speak it good, Macedonian is much different. In Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia they use Cyrillic. Slovak is very similar to Czech. Finish sounds a bit like Hungarian...

Romansch ist one of the languages of Switzerland. Yes, you might feel like you can kind of understand it but not it all because it is a romance language as well and thus related to italian and spanish.

12:32 Finnish is our brother / siter language of Estonia . Estonians ca 15 % understand and ca  fluidly  ca  5 % talk with finnish peopole .
