The "MiraColle Omura Festival," an event planned and run by junior high school students in Omura, was held on September 29th at the Mirai-on Library and Koremo Plaza. The "MiraColle Omura Festival" was planned and run by third-year students of Omura Junior High School under the theme of "What can we do for our hometown?" This year, for the first time, it was held outside of school to directly convey their feelings to local people. At the venue, bread and side dishes created by the students, inspired by Omura's local cuisine and specialties, were sold. The "Mizushima-cho Kokkodesho," a traditional dance from Mizushima-cho, was also performed, with the students receiving direct instruction from local residents. The participating third-year students from Omura Junior High School said, "By learning about the culture, we were able to make new discoveries and think about our region," and seemed to feel the importance of inheriting local traditions and culture and promoting their charm.
