If a yellow lantern made a green lantern show

it's like we travelled back to 2016 but only in the worst ways possible

and I felt like the Hal hate was forced. I feel like this man spent 20 years protecting the sector he even went against his mentor following the orders of the guardians. Bro is a hero, I’m black and I felt like the whole not being considered even in space line was a little weird because his dad got the exact same test as hal just failed. So idk it felt forced. Also they tried to press the fact that Hal was a bad green lantern because he interfered with planetary conflicts but I’m like imagine having the ability to save people and not using it cause some people millions of miles away say so. That also was weird to me.

Both of the lead actors were great choices to play these characters, unfortunately they were wasted in this criminally evil writing

It really is mind-boggling (and not in a good way)  that there's an alternate timeline version of John Stewart who's basically a dictator, and he's somehow less of a villain than Lanterns John Stewart

I'm convinced this was never meant to be a Green Lantern show and the Lanterns were forced in to an already existing story.

I can’t believe it took me this long to realize that Hal got the John Walker treatment. 😂

John walker 🤝 hal jordan
Being the only sane people in their shows

The fact that they kept preaching about the privilage only to take John Stewart, one of the coolest and most heroic of Lanterns, and turn him into Homelantern, is nothing but peak irony.

These people cannot write heroes to save their lives. They're only good at writing evil.

I’m solely convinced that LANTERNS was created by people who hate Superheroes.🤦

As bad as episode 3 was, it didn't become a Hate watch for me until the Hal's Pathetic Funeral episode. I can't believe people defended that

anything but a good father figure, they love the "down in the dumps falling down drunk mentor" than someone kids could possibly look at as a good mentor. almost every modern heroes are like this nowadays, thats the reason why almost everyone say an anime character as a good influence

Remember when the term Fridging came from a green lantern comic well this show pretty much Fridging hal Jordan because that the vibe I've gotten

I’m now thinking the bomber at the show’s beginning was right to go against the town. They’re protecting terrorists.

His only mistake was not telling the Green Lanterns sooner what was happening.

I am a black man from England and I absolutely hate what these people are doing to Hal Jordan….they give us a bad name and believe when I say they do not represent my feeling or opinions!!!

Character Assassination at its finest

Imagine if we get a season 2, and the writers spite Hal one more time by making John become Parallax instead 💀

It’s insane to me how much people hype us this show and attempt to compare it to Netflix daredevil meanwhile Netflix daredevil has every episode where he uses his powers to his advantage, actually shows him as a moral and justice character and yeah also has great character development

Even with all its troubles, a perfect RWBY quote for nowdays 'heroes' is, "You think you're entitled to everything just because you've suffered. But suffering isn't enough! You can't just be strong, you have to be smart! You can't just be deserving, you have to be WORTHY!".

Suffering should explain trauma, decisions but never JUSTIFY what you or others do. I can understand why someone could become a thief, it doesn't mean that I have to find acceptable that someone got robbed, forgiveness and redemption doesn't mean ignoring the consequences that people should face.

It is even worse when you remember that James Gun DCU started with Superman and the world being more 'comics/light/fun' only for all other content to be edgy, dark and tone-deaf.

Also, it is annoying to hear and watch writers circlejerk 'First World Racism' when this is literally a 'only you' problem, people like me (that live in second and third world countries) will see characters doing their pity speech while living the 'immigrant dream' and it feels.... Entitle.

Guy is ready to throw hands with superman, but leaves earth to a fake lantern using a dead man's ring?
