@flywithowen is at the controls getting us there safely. We bought this plane 3 years ago sight unseen in cash and flew it home 1800 miles. It has definitely been the best bang for the buck entry level light jet! Should we keep it and do upgrades or sell it?

What’s the shortest runway you know a civilian jet has landed on?? 🤔 The 501 continues to impress us time and time again. This flight would be impossible in a lot of jets! I feel like a TR equipped 501 could stop in well under 1500 ft if you really had to for some reason… Hope y’all enjoyed the video, who wants more citation videos? 🙌

Since our 501 is one of the lightest ever built, even with 7 (very light) people and a lot of fuel, we are still well under MGTOW. Many of these older legacy citations have more capability than people might think.

Although you don’t often see Citations landing on shorter runways, everything in this video was well within limitations. Even though it may look stressful on camera, we had plenty of runway and margin for this landing. Many calculations were made before taking off. It’s amazing what these planes can do!

Just a heads up, when you prist, you're supposed to clip the tube into the fuel nozzle so it shoots into the nozzle and properly mixes. Otherwise it will just float on top of the fuel in the wing. Most foreign countries don't have pre-mixed Jet A so I've had to prist quite a bit.

To quote another poster: "Just because you CAN do a thing doesn't mean you SH0ULD do the thing. When you get older you become more cautious because you have seen things go wrong. At your ages you might not have yet. But you will.

As a young 27 yr old newly rated com't -IFR pilot I did my share of "Men must go to the sea to prove themselves" self-induced risky "do it or die" stunts. My retired airline captain father who had survived the WWII China-Burma Hump (with loss rates higher than the 8 Air Force bombing Germany) followed by years of high risk flying in S. American mountains and then early high accident rate airline flying, retired with 45,000 hours without a single incident (other than blowing tires on an aborted TO in a DC-8-63 in HNL). Upon hearing of my exploits...he had a one-word question..."WHY"?

Yes, you proved you can get a Citation in and out of "NO margin for error" runways"...but next time leave your cheering section of "risk unaware" passengers at home...we don't want to read about them in the accident report....and fly to Pt 121 standards and we won't read about you either.

Nice landing. Reminds me of landing at Meigs Field in Chicago. Also reminds me of landing the KC-130 on short or unimproved strips, bringing the power levers over the "gate" (Flt Eng chks for "spin-off"*), into ground range then reverse and laying on the antiskid brakes. Just don't let the dust catch up with the intakes or the Engineer will be cross.*Spin-off is when the props come fully out of flight range into ground range as seen on the prop rpm vernier scale which the Engineer is hawking as the pilot is concentrating on the macro landing/scan/thing. If a prop hangs up and the pilot pulls the levers into reverse the plane will leave the runway with catastrophic results. Props can ruin your day on old 130's. Today's have different setup.
