It’s a long one, but it’s jam-packed with DIY love, cozy inspiration, and a healthy dose of chaos! While my mom was away traveling, I headed to her cottage to dog-sit her two pups…and decided to surprise her with a full kitchen makeover (obvi)! Let's just say, we’re bringing the true “cottage” back to “cottage-core" haha. This one’s filled with adorable dogs, heartfelt reactions, and plenty of creative magic.

I’m not crying—you’re crying!!!! How beautiful. I’m so glad you mom loved it, and it was wonderful to see Kenobi playing with other puppers!

My husband was a cabinet maker. When screw holes were too big, he would take either a very small dowel, or use toothpicks, and some wood glue. He would fill the holes, let them dry, cut off excess, and then they would be “tight” enough to securely screw back together.

The nature of milk paint is designed to "chip". Your mum's reaction was so touching. It must have made all that work worth it.

Four days?! FOUR DAYS?!!!
That reveal was so touching. Good daughter. Good diy.

Vanessa was your secret weapon. Your vision and hard work coupled with Vanessa cranking away on all that now beautifully painted white cabinetry made this happen! Also, is your Mom Teri's Garr's long lost little sister?

Your mom literally almost made me cry. Her reaction was so heartwarming. Glad you could make her smile and that she loves her new kitchen reno so much. It really is the little things we can do for our loved ones that makes life all worth it

Creativity, puppies, crisp air, leaves falling, friendship, rain, challenges, solutions, beauty, family, love. Best content ever.❤

Your mom's reaction made me tear up. She's such a sweetheart. The kitchen turned out so cute and functional! I love what you did with the old hutch.

Happy for your mom that she's found love again!! (Love how you just slid that "and her partner, Ian ..." in there!😊). Gorgeous reno, as usual!!

Had to come in here to say I’m so happy to see Vanessa in the videos more! You guys working together is an awesome team! You guys together are awesome cheery vibes 🎉

This is now one of my favorite videos! All of my favorite things--dogs, fall color, a cottage on the lake, and a cozy kitchen that just invites you to come in and stay a while. Oh, and a beautiful mom. I miss mine so much. She probably would have reacted the same way as yours.

The best part is your Mom's reaction!! She truly felt the love from you!

Dani before she starts painting: do you have a minute to talk about our lord savior the sherwin Williams primer? 😂😂❤

I loved this makeover but I absolutely LOVE your Mother! What a person to have in your corner.

My friend's Burrow sofa vs my Woometron: his wobbles, mine doesn't. His cushions are losing shape, mine aren't. He paid more. I didn't. European craftsmanship wins.

Aww Kenobi laying down in frame at the end was picture perfect. Your Mum seems so happy and that's the best result you can hope for. Great job guys!

Dani, your moms reaction made me cry. You could tell how much love and respect you both have for one another and how happy she was to have a daughter like you. You truly are special.
