Zair Mundaray Rodríguez, a criminal lawyer and former director general of procedural action for the Venezuelan Public Prosecutor's Office, stated on NTN24's "La Tarde" program that the leaders of the democratic movement are "negotiating with kidnappers" regarding the democratic transition in Venezuela.
Mundaray's statements came in response to the accusations made by former magistrate Bárbara César Siero, who claimed she was pressured with the threat of her brothers' arrest to sign political disqualification orders against María Corina Machado, a leading figure in Venezuelan democracy.
"The Supreme Court of Justice must be swept clean," Mundaray declared on NTN24. "None of the current magistrates should remain," the lawyer added.
