Cam Skattaboo has played only 8 games in the NFL yet he's already become the house hold name when it comes to Animalistic running

It would be so cool if madden had some historic modes or something to experience the development of the sport

Just a reminder, the single game passing yardage record (Norm van Brocklin, LA Rams, 554 yards) was set all the way back in 1954.

12:47 Good to know that there is a rich tradition of having to reiterate to refs multiple times to enforce... ya know... the rules.

The arrival of the AFL in 1960 really changed American football forever. Introducing pass-heavy offenses to a nation really just starting to discover television, going hard on recruiting black players from predominantly black southern colleges the NFL actively avoided, hell, even the best stuff of what would be known as NFL Films came from broadcast and filming techniques developed by AFL TV crews, which were then absorbed and adapted into NFL Films after the merger in 1966. Without the AFL, the game of football as we know it could have been very different.

because the Run was mostly all there was

Thank you for this vid. It was humbling, cuz I thought I was a student of the game and the history of the league. I learned a lot. Thank you.

Fun facts: Rugby was created in 1823 and football was created in 1869. In 2026 Rugby still has no forward pass and generally has higher overall injury rates than American football, three times higher per athlete-exposure.

The Portsmouth Spartans became the Detroit Lions two years after the title game loss to the Bears, making 1932 the only postseason matchup between the two long time NFC North rivals. The only two NFC North rivals who have yet to meet in the postseason are the Lions and Vikings. Eventually, the offense will regain some scoring ability, perhaps through a committee running approach, but it's nice to see that defense still wins titles.
