Thanks for having me Smallant! I had an absolute blast coaching you through this! If anyone's interested in more insanely glitched Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl Speedruns I do em all the time. Would love to help folks with more questions on this! ❤️

I love the guy in chat who says "Is this a bug?" as you telekinetically zoom over the tree tops into the void with your menu open

Cynthia: Let's battle!

Smallant: I'd rather have a sandwich.

Ant: Freezes time

Dialga: And I took that personally.

Cynthia "Welco-...."
Ant: Throws a raw slice of ham in her face
Cynthia: "Gah!..."
Ant: Sprints past her to the elevator and puts his Turtwig in the Hall of Fame before she can catch him...

Cynthia: You can't become champion without beating me in a battle first.

Smant: Ham.

Cynthia: Understandable. Have a nice day.

Him: "Sandwich doesn't work here"
Me: "Oh no...is he going to fight with his lvl 5 starter"
Also him: "I'm gonna do the impossible....... Inverted Sandwich "
Also me: "Mother of god"

Being able to walk out of bounds with glitches is a true commitment to faithful adaptation.

In a weird way, this feels faithful to the originals, where the speedrun is also ridiculous and broken

I appriciate the sandwich metaphor, especially as not even one of those "sandwiches" is bread, ham, bread

the fact that u can actually skip Cynthia is sooo hilarious for no reason

11: this is a sandwich
Cynthia: dear god
11: there’s more
Cynthia: no
11: gets on the elevator without fighting her

this could honestly make for a really interesting challenge mode where you beat the elite 4 before actually starting, then start the game normally, so when you get to the elite 4, its already the rematch elite 4 and they're a giga boss.

When you think about it, this playthrough also follows all rules of a Hardcore Nuzlocke

That moment when the ice gym skip that ignores an entire puzzle isn't even included in a speedrun because it doesn't even go near there

i had a dream i tried this and instead of them patching this they made smallant appear at the door to the pokemon league and bully you for trying this, preventing you from going further in the run

Alternative Title: I beat Pokémon’s most dangerous funko pop with bread and ham

Ant: Bye mom! Wish me luck!
Ant 17 minutes later: Hi mom! I'm the champion now!
Mom: ...

Imagine paying $60 for 17 minutes

love how the first week of the game we found how to duplicate pokemon, dupe items, teach pokemon any moves, make any mon shiny, get shaymin early, and be able to skip the entire e4 and champ battle😀
