Regarding the Beach Boys, I am now absolutely addicted to the Sail On podcast on Spotify. The detail given to each album and their respective outtakes is amazing, and those involved are very entertaining.

Part of Queen's song Don't Stop Me Now ("having a good time, having a good time") sounds almost exactly like part of the Laverne and Shirley theme song ("we're gonna make it, we're gonna make it").

Was able to watch this on my cell phone, Steve.  Saw the first 1976 part about a month ago, also on my phone. Computer is still in storage.   Will watch part 3. Miss watching your episodes!

Rich Man, Poor Man...Taxi Driver...Dorothy Hamill...15 Big Ones begins...I'm SO conflicted! Thanks for the review, Steve, and have a GREAT week!😃

Interesting as always cheers Ray.

I must have bee n in my room studying during the first quarter of 1976 because I missed watching most of the shows you've profiled. However, I was aware of them - particularly MARY HARTMAN, MARY HARTMAN - which got a lot of publicity for being "unusual." I think at the time it reminded me of the TV show SOAP. By the way, Louise Lasser just passed away back in July. My dad liked the SONNY and CHER show, probably because of Cher and her revealing outfits. My daughter is a costume designer who works on Broadway. She was fortunate to work with Bob Mackie on Broadway's THE CHER SHOW, for which he won a TONY AWARD. She even spent one afternoon out shopping with him and says he was a lovely, talented man who was very kind. R.I.P. Mr. Mackie. On a lighter not, you really do have an excellent  T-shirt collection Steve! Have a wonderful week.

Interestingly, my parents watched the original Rich Man, Poor Man, which I missed entirely. Hearing that the villain Falconetti was especially evil, I wasn't going to make the same mistake twice and I watched Rich Man, Poor Man Part 2 in its entirety. Much later, I was happy to see William Smith play a good guy in the last season of Hawaii Five-O, as a cop.

I remember watching those episodes of the Six Million Dollar Man introducing Jaime and being traumatized by Jaime's body rejecting the bionics, the resulting agony and her "death". Apparently, ABC heard from numerous outraged viewers (probably including a lot of men who had a crush on Lindsay Wagner), prompting them to revive her. I was then kind of crushed again when Jaime did not remember Steve Austin, as they had a romance underway.

I used to enjoy Laverne & Shirley and The six million dollar man, but most of what you mentioned wasn't shown here in the UK.  A lot of great movies around then with "One flew over the Cukoo's nest" and "Taxi Driver" becoming two of the all time great films ever made. I know that Brian's time with Landy became an unbearable episode but he did save his life and for the next 30 years we did get some wonderful music and some very special live shows from Brian with the 2012 Beach Boys reunion tour being the highlight.

Normally , I don’t watch awards shows . However , I must have seen the Academy Award given to Louise Fletcher for “ Cuckoo’s Nest “ . I distinctly remember the actress beginning her acceptance speech by saying , “ Thank you all for hating me so much.” Nurse Ratched was indeed disliked by everyone who saw the performance .

Steve…….Great program as always.   Lots of memories to discuss.   I remember liking Laverne and Shirley much more than Happy Days.  I think because I thought Lenny and Squiggy made the show really funny.  Hearing about Donnie & Marie reminded me about when their show was taped just a few miles south of Salt Lake in Orem, Utah.  One of the regulars on their show was Paul Lynde.  You would often hear of P. Lynde sightings in Salt Lake during this time.  When their show was cancelled, it almost bankrupted the family because the studio they built had no other customers to generate revenue so far from Hollywood.  I had forgotten that Sonny and Cher were back on TV together after their divorce.  I can’t believe anyone thought that ex’s making sarcastic remarks to each other would be funny.
I didn’t know that Palasades Park was one of the first songs recorded for 15 Big Ones.  That has always been my favorite song on the album.  Once again….because of Carl. His great lead with a gravelly voice on this track is really unusual for Carl.   Back in the day, our band used to play that song the way the BB did, with a slide guitar.  I have always loved how Amusement Parks USA uses the tag line from Palasades Park at the end of the song.  Even Leon Russel’s organ throughout APUSA is reminiscent of the original song.
I also remember really liking Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman.  It just fit with my sarcastic personality at the time….and even now.
I really like your new T shirt.  Did you pick it up at Al’s concert a few weeks ago?
Thanks again for all you do.   Have a great week……..Lamont

Another great one Steve. I never really watched the Bionic Woman unless she was on with the Six Million dollar Man. I thought it was funny how you said The Bionic Woman "would run" on ABC, just my weird humor.😊 I didn't really watch a lot of the shows you mentioned. Similarly, Snow White was the only movie I saw of the ones you mentioned. It always amazes me how you can have a creative genius in a group and the rest of the band wanting to go against what he wants to do. Isn't that literally biting the hand that feeds you. Clearly Rock N Roll music did better than It's OK. Didn't CCR have the same problem with the guy making all the hits and the rest of the band? Anyway, 15 Big Ones might have been worse with all covers but who knows for sure. Awesome stuff as always Steve, have a great week as well.

Unfortunately, Bob Mackie of amazing costume fame (especially in Cher's case)  just passed away Sept. 14.

Maybe the reason Mary Hartman didn't use a laugh track Steve is because soap operas didn't use a laugh track and Norman Lear one and two emulate that
