The seats on the 25+ xsr900 are much improved from my experience. I picked up a 2026 xsr900 about a month ago and love it. The price was also a huge factor as it was $8999 before dealer fees.

I got my 2026 XSR900 in August and put 4000 miles on it. I installed a Yoshimura exhaust, flashed the ECU, NRC tail tidy and front turn signals, AVS short levers, and much more and I am freakin loving it. It’s a great fun bike.

First time I've watched one of your videos. I found really well balanced and informative. I am actually considering XSR vs Street Triple RS so very useful. It would be my only bike - I currently have Trident 660. Thanks!

I bought a Nitron R3 shock within 1000 miles of buying my 2022 XSR900; it substantially improved handling while making the seat discomfort a non-issue. Stock shock doesn't seem to have separate low and high speed compression dampening while the last version of the XSR900 (as well as the R9) does.

I prefer the stock exhaust because it's symmetrical; it's equally loud (or soft) regardless of which side you're leaning the bike over on.

I did buy this bike specifically for the occasional track day and I think that's where it shines best. It has superb cornering clearance (waaaay more than I expected), monster brakes, IMU electronics, and enough engine to go past 135 mph which was very comparable with all the inline 4 600/750. Curiously, it felt "relaxed" because the engine and the QS encourages a relaxed style of riding; you don't rev out the bike but the engine is still powerful enough to trigger the traction control light quite frequently.

Solid comparison. If you are wanting to add a triple, you have two great choices there.  The dark horse (if you are going used) you might consider is the KTM 890 Duke R. It might be too much hooligan. It doesn't sound like a triple though, so I can see where the Street Triple would easily win you over.

I own a Trident and I'm kicking myself because you can bolt on the GP fairings onto the xsr. If I knew that, I wouldn't have bought the Trident

The suspension on the standard height street triple is also stiff fyi

Great job.  Well articulated.  Since you said you are tall, I'm in my mid 50s and 6'3".  You put a decent amount of miles on those bikes, was the xsr noticeably better on your knees, wrists, and back?

Why not try a trident 800?
