The CF Moto 450 MT is one of those bikes that stands out in a generation. As a teenager I had a DT125R but always had my eyes on a Kawasaki KDX 125 SR. Years later I had a Honda CRF250SM but always had my eyes on the Yamaha WR250R. There's been many more throughout the years. The CF Moto 450 MT hits those desirable points. Colour LCD, spoked tubeless tires, led lights, styling and functionality AND price. It's on my desire list 😅
I use mine every day to commute and do chores and stuff, I have fitted a GIVI topbox which I can take out in a click. It's been stellar, I live in Spain and there aren't a lot of bikes around due to the distribution being done by KTM, but they're coming. As an adventure bike I think that fits perfectly with the definition of taking you from point A to point B whitout trouble for whats in the middle. It's not the greatest in trail riding for me, but gets the job done and it's in the top 3 of it's class. Excels in fast tracks, it's where the bike comes alive. Motorway traveling is doable also, not the bests of conforts but has a decent size fuel tank and the capability of doing 100 kph in 6th gear without any hussle or weird vibrations. Uncle Wang is a blessing, the amount of parts and accessories... just the place to go. Really glad I bought it, not riding as much as I want to (sadly live gets in the way sometimes).
Part of the reason for buying it last summer were the videos in this channel, so I am realy grateful for the honesty doing the bikes reviews. I would love to tag along for a quick ride if a travel to Spain happens in the next year.
It would be interesting to see you ride the Kove 800x Rally . You give real world opinion on everthing you ride in terms riders understand . Thankyou for taking the time you do to make videos with better information
I bought mine in April after coming down to you Nathan and just riding that bike except for a short stint on the Vogue 300 that you were rodond. I haven't looked back, thanks for affording me the opportunity to ride it. I am planning a trip to France, Italy and Switzerland next year and I am sure it will cope with everything that will be thrown at it. As a novice trail rider at the time, I was amazed at the confidence it inspired in me when we did a couple of lanes in North Devon. Brilliant honest video as usual Nathan, keep up the good work and I am sure I will see you again in the not too distant future.
100% agree. Im an Aussie retired in the Philippines after living here for 15 years while working FIFO back in Australia. I got a new 2022 model April last year - ( at 15% more than it was in Australia!). The last few years I had thought my "retirement gift" tk myself would be something fancier like a BMW or KTM but commonsense and logic swayed me to this. My one modification is a lighter (and better sounding) exhaust can - but I've added many bits and pieces, starting with LED globe and auxiliary lights - i like to see at night. An additional reason I am really happy with my Himmy is a reason a lot don't like it - the power and speed (or lack of). Here in the Philippines where the majority of drivers have got their licences without taking the proper tests (corruption is out of control) speed is the last thing I want out on the roads is speed - and out in the sticks the long stroke comes into it's element. I need to get out more though. Great video. Cheers and beers
Great review Nathan. I got my new CF450 a few weeks ago after a 4 month wait and it's been worth the wait. I just love it. Ridden all over the world on KTM 690 or DRZ 400 and whilst they're great bikes, the CF has that better mix of capability and accessibility without the penalty of too much extra weight ( and cost worry) you get with a GS or similar behemoth. I get pleasure just from seeing the CF in the garage. Those looked like tough trails old boy so top marks to you. Have a good Christmas
And, the IBEX 450 is a great looking bike. There are people who won’t buy a bike if it doesn’t look good to their eye. The mini T7 appearance hasn’t hurt the bike at that price. I traded my Husqvarna 501 for the KTM Adventure R for the things you mention about the CF Moto 450, I needed a better all around bike, that was lighter than my T7 for the off-road but better than the 501 on the road… with better service intervals. My local dealer who sells CF Moto unfortunately doesn’t handle the motorcycles and they dropped Husqvarna early in 2025. (I think the true motocross/enduro type bikes are their mainstay.) I don’t know what their agreement is with Honda/Yamaha/Kawasaki but not selling the IBEX 450 has to definitively have been a miss for sales. The KLE 500 will be a sales winner for this dealership.
Yup I love mine and the Mrs’s has joined me on easier road focused trip.. she got her learner’s and some professional lessons and we now on our first bike trip visiting family in Howick South Africa.. We do a mix of highway, country back roads and public gravel roads. She is loving it as her first bike and I thoroughly enjoy it too. You sum it up perfectly, easy to own, well mannered across all riding terrains and looks to be dependable going forward 😎👍 One n only complaint is the ridiculously short 5000km oil/service change intervals
Wow! Fair play Nathan.I wasn't expecting to see you ride those trails. I did chuckle. I bought my 450 MT in September 2025 but due to work commitments, I'm still running it in. 125 miles at the moment! Nice to know you rate the Mitas tyres in the mud. I've just ordered a pair of Mitas Enduro XT+ Dakar tyres. Living in Wiltshire, UK, there's plenty of Byways to choose from and test them out. 😁
I love your commentary Nathan! You give an insight about how the bike feels and how the bike rides, rather than what the spec sheet tells us or using 3rd hand stories. For me, its all really relevant and pragmatic, owner-based rhetoric. Maybe the 450MT is going to be the replacement for my aging 800 Tiger? Ride-alongs like this sure help. So, thanks mate!
