I'd say they succeed, because unfortunately that's all I could really think about playing that mission

I remember where I was when this game was being marketed before it released and we were seeing hints of a lot of the different missions in the campaign and how they were going all out on certain things you would do or witness happen. I appreciate that they never really reveal in the marketing that some of the missions would involve you making certain choices of your own. It was perfect not to give that away because when I played this game for the first time, I like many other people probably were shocked. The option of choice definitely reminds me a lot of how they did it in Black Ops 2, so at the time I appreciated that they added this in. I’ll definitely argue to this day that the campaign is what saved this game cause it’s about the only good thing about it in my mind looking back on it.

@ 7:46 This isn't a correction, as this point was retconned later on, but at the time of release, "Alex" was just the assigned name for Echo 3-1.
If you see the intro title for his levels, he's always labeled as "Alex" (in quotes), while others like Garrick don't have them. He could have been called Jerry, for all we know, lol.

11:00 i didn't see this as ruthlessness, more that we see Price is able to keep his sense of reason when everyone else, even other soldiers are starting to get overwhelmed by fear.
The player character, frankly freezes up under the immense pressure and everyone there would have died horrifically if Price hadn't kept his presence of mind.
This tells us that Price is trained and experienced, the kind of man you want leading you in scary situations.

This is probably just semantics but I love the character and I liked this game pretty well, so I thank you for the chance to talk about it

Typing this as I'm listening to the video. But those Clean house type missions are just so good and I think they created a near perfect balance of action, stealth and story telling in this campaign. Spec ops however... LOL. And like you said multiplayer is a whole different story. Very well done video!...well..so far LOL

I like to imagine Kate as the main villain of the modern warfare reboot. If she never had the CIA SAD team invade Barkov’s facility and get the gas into the hands of the ULF’s hands then the entire series wouldn’t have happened lol. The campaign really doesn’t make sense from a story standpoint, it just mashes a ton of conflicts starting from the gulf war into the 2014 Syria crisis with Russia being the big bad guy blamed for all the atrocities that the real Russia never committed

It's a great campaign, gritty, intense.

I really enjoyed this game and even its sequel, its such a shame Activision totally shat the bed for the third game, robbing everyone of a proper conclusion to the plot threads established in this banger of a game. Excellent video as always, looking forward to the next one

I quite enjoyed this new Modern Warfare (and the second one), probably because we got more of Captain Price.  Even if he was voiced by someone new in the reboot games, the guy did a damn good job and really sounds close to the original.

I'm so sad Barkov was killed at the end of the game. He could've been such a fleshed out character (in relations to Makarov as well) but they cut him so short :/ And his forces portrayal is a bit confusing, as he's very much backed up by Russia in the beginning (Spetsnaz soldiers being apart of his army) then very suddenly gets disavowed at the end. It's the same as the Gulag in MW III being in "Kastovia" despite it being in Petropalovsk in the original. I had hoped for MW4 to tie MW19 together with MW3 but that was a pipe dream🥲 (I still love Barkov tho, he is so interesting)

Ik this is a campaig retrospect but the mp deserves it flowers this was the ONLY cod I’ve gotten a nuke in which imo is the hardest one to get a nuke in so if anything this cod takes the most skill to get a nuke in ik this is a campaign retrospect and I will say this is my second favorite campaign all time behind bo2 it might be my first if I’m honest the story is a 10/10 for me I would do anything to go back in time to play this game as if it was day one again no game has touched the views on YouTube this mp has for snd you can shit on this game all you want but one thing
You can’t deny is how popularized the community was in and it wasn’t because of Covid this game was a top 5 snd game and the views on yt prove it via marksman courage jd wildcat futives etc no game since then has touched those kind of numbers on yt it genuinely was a blast being on this game every night playing
However you wanted no matter if it had red dots or no dead silence obviously Ik this isn’t a mp retrospect but this game is like my top 3 cods of all time behind bo2 and bo3 mp wise love the campaign retrospect and I will be checking your content out and I subbed ❤
