It's awesome to see how people run into mistakes, and then finding a solution to overcome that - it may be the trial and error method, but making things for the first time there's always a good chance you miss a small detail or two. Nice work.

Everybody makes mistakes, even experienced tradesmen. Knowing what went wrong and how to fix it, is a learning curve that we've all been through.

Great job, even how you overcame the unanticipated problem. Never having been a machinist, but as a mechanic I probably would have welded a box end wrench to the nut and then heated the wrench up and bent it out of the way. LOL. Nice to learn the proper way.
