Thanks for watching, guys! I had a lot of fun researching the cards for this video. They're all very odd. Any other weird Yu-Gi-Oh cards that I left out of this list? I'm sure there's plenty! 🤔

"I play Voltester, looks like a link monster is pointing to your deck" pulls out paper shredder

Honestly this is one of my favorite qualities of earlier Yugioh. Cards could literally do just about anything

Pretty sure you have Time Magic Hammers effect backwards. It battles and they are banished for N number of turns, not they are banished after N number of turns.

I alway liked the idea of Last Turn. The concept of you just having a big boss monster and the game all comes down to your opponent can pick any monster they have and the two monsters just fight, last one standing wins is such a cool idea. They shoulda just added that all monster effects are negated so its all depending on which monster has more attack points

24:37 the card says “Link monster” meaning it has to be a monster, not a spell/trap (which is what they would be treated as in the spell/trap zone). Link monster’s link arrows do not work in the s/t zone because they are no longer monsters there. However, if it said “Link monster card” that would be a completely different story 😂

“Hey, how did you do at the YCS?”

“Not great unfortunately. I ended up losing too many coinflips, so the results felt a little out of my hands.”

“Ah that’s unfortunate - so you had to go second a bunch of times and couldn’t break their boards?”

“Oh no not at all - we rolled dice to decide who went first, and I won all of those. The issue was that I had multiple opponents flip 10+ heads in a row with Origami Goddess and I got OTK’d every single game”.

The Voltester bit is funny. On the real though, link arrows are inactive once set in the spell or trap zones cuz they are no longer "monsters" if that makes sense. So no, the fun ends there. Also, if that did count, Snake-Eyes would be even more bonkers because imagine using link monsters with Snake-Eyes and manipulating arrows like crazy. I dont even wanna think about it.

I dunno, man. Pot of Greed was so strong that it's been banned for 20+ years

Last week I just bought all the cards I could find to build two mirror decks that break the game or do something completely out of traditional Yugioh effects. I’m hoping it will be a lot of silly fun to play.

Ngl I knew of all of these, an homer able mention is “an unfortunate report” it forces the opponent to have 2 battle phases

I unironically got over 26 million attack with Origami Goddess once, that thing can go insane

I think Question is an unofficial Spell Speed 3, the opponent can chain against it, but that "your opponent cannot check your graveyard" condition is something that can only be countered with a counter trap that negates the activation of Question, because Question creates a rule breaking condition and the rulebook states that at anytime a card contradicts the rules, do what the card says. So you wouldn't be able to chain Disappear to it, because Question contradicted the rules by forbidding your opponent from looking at your graveyard, therefore changing the game state. This comes from a judge, a friend of mine played Question, his opponent checked his graveyard, my friend called over the judge, explained what happened, the opponent got a game loss because Question changes the rules of the game upon activation, saying that the only way to prevent Question from going off is to negate it, so cards like Disappear or DD Crow resolve without effects

On Tuesday any card with "Taco" or "Tomato" in it's name, it's ATK is double.

my favorite thing about Get Your Game On is that, eventually, it will never be legal to be played by anybody regardless of duel officially

Last Turn should have definitely been on the list with its numerous ruling details

when it comes to question, in my experience it normally resolves fine the first time, nobody really pays that much attention, but going into game 2 you might as well side it out, since your opponent will make a mental note of the first monster sent, in which case siding it out is making them waste the brainpower accounting for it.

ofc you go 0-2 anyway, question is in the deck

Might be worth noting the hygeine rule got implemented BECAUSE of yujo friendship

One thing I find kind of fascinating is that a lot of these cards just expect you to keep track of time on your own, rather than having an objective measure of it such as with counters. Which is really odd considering the game does use counters for other things, just not time.

I miss weird, off the wall effects. We don’t get them anymore.
