Welcome to Tier One of the Japanese Cult Iceberg explained. I guess you have to have that sort of thing on there to make sure you show up in the algorithm. I don't know. I'm trying my best here, man.

Today we're going to dive on in and start looking at cults in Japan...and also some just strange religions. Ranging from controlling groups like Soka Gakkai to dangerous ones like Shoko Asahara's Aum Shinrikyo, even funny ones like Happy Science. We cover them all and them some.

I plan on making more of these, depending on the reception. Hopefully it's good.

I lived in Japan for several years. I was very impressed with the beautiful wooden temple at Tenli; sometimes I travelled there just to hear the faithful chant. Japan itself had some new cult stunt activity every few months making the news it seemed (people dressed all in white, using mirrors to reflect bad energy… and so on).

tenrikyo follower here im a canadian who converted its funny to see tenrikyo in a cult video, tenrikyo actually helped me to get rid of religious OCD (im a former christian) and made me realize some christian denominations are very cultish I fully understand why the religion may seem weird to an outsider but the creation story isnt taken litterally by most followers its more to teach the values of the faith and I assure you tenrikyo is very positive its about helping others and seeing everyone as brothers and living a joyful and fulfiling life and many tenrikyo followers do charity and help their community the religion is harmless

You and your team, does a great job keep up the good to great work. Eventhough Im older than you and Im sure your team...Im 60 years old. You and your team inspire me. To be about it, not talk about it. Your delivery in the presentation is spot on. Things can only get better for your team
I subed.👍

Really liked this video! One thing I took issue with though is the sentiment "this probably wouldn't work in America". thats obviously untrue because if it were the case there would be no American cults lmao. Everyone, no matter their nationality, is susceptible to love bombing and the promise of community if they are approached at a certain time in their life. cults have been recruiting on college campuses since forever for this very reason: it's an uncertain time of transition for young people who are looking for their future life path.

MY GOD this was the tier 1?????? Thank you for sharing all this knowledge, it's hard to find serious content about this side of japanese culture (I don't know if 'side' is a good word, because all the cult stuff seems to be kinda some basis of japanese society) deep breath let's check tier 2 🫠
