When I was a teen, the friends in my neighborhood called me a "chessnut" because I started off just about every morning with a friendly game, followed by playing basketball in the afternoon. My favorite chess opponent and I would replay the Fisher/Spasky games that were published in the newspaper during that famous tournament. I haven't played chess since I graduated high school. While watching some poker videos, I came across this channel and enjoyed what I saw. I still haven't actually played but started watching a couple chess videos each week. After watching several people narrate past games, I decided to only follow Square One. Not only are the games interesting, I really like the page layout and the very good narration with the dry sense of humor. Great job! Maybe I will play again some day, but at age 71, I don't have much time left. Since I'm old school, I still can't come to grips with the current notation. During my time playing, this current notation was just starting to be adopted. Fortunately for me, my chess library of about 20 books use the old familiar notation. I still say P-K4 🙂. Keep up the good work.
A zillion years ago, Noam Chomsky said something like: the only thing a chess playing computer can do is ruin the game of chess for you. I do yearn for the pre-computer days.
I might be your #1 Hyper Fan almost exclusively using my Hype button on your content alone. Id never use it on Gotham Chess given hes hyped enough riding the coattails of Magnus w his content.
