On Provoca, Marcelo Tas talks with actor Kiko Mascarenhas. He discusses anxiety, the challenges of an artistic career in Brazil, the transition to audiovisual media, and how the monologue Todas as Coisas Maravilhosas (All the Wonderful Things) helped him through a personal crisis.

Kiko recounts how *Todas as Coisas Maravilhosas*, the monologue he has been performing since 2019, played an important role during a crisis of anxiety and depression. “I think the whole process was part of my healing. Going back to talking about it after having lived through it helped me,” he reveals. The experience also led him to create a mental list of small good things in life, like a laugh, an ice cream, or a hose shower.

The actor also recalls one of the most difficult moments since the show's premiere: a day when no tickets were sold and there was no audience. “And then I went to cry,” he says. For him, situations like this are part of the profession. “I say that theater is made of failures, because that's what it is.”

When discussing his transition to audiovisual media, Kiko explains that one of the main difficulties for those coming from theater is maintaining concentration amidst the pace and noise of a set. He also reflects on the transformative power of art and summarizes his vision in one sentence: “Art saves. I truly believe that.”
