I Played FF7 Revelation... TWICE! Here's What Stood Out...

I played Final Fantasy VII Revelation at PAX West, getting roughly 90 minutes of hands-on time across two separate demo sessions. This was the same FF7 Revelation demo shown at Gamescom, but I was able to play it twice — giving me a chance to play both the open world section with the Highwind and the story section with Yuffie in Wutai in order to give you a taste of it all that wouldn't have been possible in a single 45-minute playthrough.

In this video, I break down my full FF7 Revelation hands-on impressions, including what the demo reveals about the final game in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, how it compares to Final Fantasy VII Remake, Rebirth, AND the original, as what it may suggest about where Cloud, Tifa, Yuffie, and Sephiroth's stories are headed.

And while most of the demo left me exciting, there was one BIG concern we'll also talk about.

TIMESTAMPS:
00:00 - Intro
00:51 - The Demo Opening & State of the World
05:08 - A Deep Dive Into the Wutai Story
11:22 - Revelation's New Combat Depth
19:23 - The Exciting Side of Exploration...
23:04 - ... And The Concerning Side of Exploration
29:01 - Outro and BIG SPOILERS For OG Fans

UPDATE: I HIGHLY recommend checking out at least the first hour or so of Max's recent stream. He played for a few hours and said exploration and discover REALLY opens up and it's not nearly as marker-driven as it was for all of us who only got to taste a very short snippet of the game. He said if he only had 45-minute sessions, he would've had a bad impression of the world exploration, but once the tutorializing was over he was finding tons of stuff that wasn't listed by markers. Just real genuine discovery, which has me excited: https://www.youtube.com/live/tJevQE2JvGg?si=fuwFZ5Lb7MdOlLj_&t=211

For anyone making the rounds of all these Revelation impression videos like I am - Max did talk about how he found Materia Loadouts, in a menu!

That there's so much here in this early demo build and it's STILL just the tip of the iceberg means we're in for this taking up the rest of next Spring! Cannot wait

Great work on this vid and the breakdown, dude! I especially love the deep dive you did into the story bits and its implications. This game can't come soon enough.
