Strategy pattern is indeed the GOAT.
If anyone is looking for more details on a data driven approach to coding, I'd suggest reading more on ECS and trying out Unity's Dots. It really rewires the brain into thinking about separating logic from data in a way that is more scalable. Or so it did for me anyway.

Obviously this approach is always superior! but for seniors to understand this and not say "initial development time will increase, just add a simple check for now" is inevitable.
