I don't understand the constant carping criticism of everything we do in Britain. This is a successful weapon that the MOD has brought into being and it doesn't matter what its origins are. Also, we're supporting Ukraine as best we can whilst also trying to address our own requirements. A much higher level of positivity would be appropriate.

60 km for a weapon that size?  Wild.

Loaded the first one that was used in anger on Op Herrick

We could do with fitting these to the river class patrol boats which are grossly under armed.

its fire for effect is its amazing feature - put down zones over the battlefield, enermy drives into a specific zone, fire Brimstone and nothing lives after it impacts - good for moving targets - so multiple zones, tell the brimstone which zone to goto and Vlad's got a bad day - then factor in that millimeter metric wave radar, tuned for certain target types and again, Vlad's having a very bad day - similar idea to the fire-for-effect with artillary, just that zones are programmable from an MPS on the battlefield - a recent use in Ukraine a naval Brimstone destroyed an S400 - Germany is buying over 3200+ Brimstone 3 for its air fleet and Poland is planning to use them for its land attack role (blisters of 12 missile per pack)

now for naval, its a similar idea, making all those little Iranian boats go sinky-sinky, similar idea for zones - recent trails against 5 FIACs killed all 5

land launched will always have a shorter range than air-launched

Brimstone is known as Spear 2 in the family of UK missile based weapons - the naval version known as Sea Spear

On the cheaps how we roll baby..been one of the world's biggest arms suppliers for a century.

Needs an HE warhead option to take out buildings/ships

Of all places.. cheeky ..

I'm surprised if the British are not looking to develop a ground-to-ground version and launcher, and seeking to sell these to other European countries. I can think of a few countries in the Baltic which could use them

I very strongly suspect there are not enough of these to make any real difference even in a moderate tacticsl saituation.

Excellent video, especially the Fighter Pilot Mafia (Cnuts!)

50kg? With that capability? Crazy.
1.5 tonnes to take out a whole tank battalion.

One NATO member use the Brimstone, the UK. 4 others have ordered:

1. United Kingdom 🇬🇧 – the primary user and country of origin.

2. Germany 🇩🇪 – has ordered Brimstone 3 for the Eurofighter. MBDA confirmed the contract in 2024.

3. Spain 🇪🇸 – has selected Brimstone for the Eurofighter, but integration and deliveries are still underway.

4. Poland 🇵🇱 – has ordered Brimstone for the Polish Ottokar-Brzoza anti-tank missile system.

5. Belgium 🇧🇪 – has ordered Brimstone for its MQ-9B drones, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2027.

Could do with having a small farm of different sizes fitted to various ships to bolster the other, anti ship killer missiles on Royal Navy ships. A T26 with a further 50 fitted together with all the other missile farms already installed. It would be a good, reasonably cheap anti-drone boat/ship defence.

The R&D unicorn of "a long hot war" has never been as "technologically and tactically transformative" as the current conflagration in Ukraine.

What do you mean "Britain of all places"?! The UK is responsible for more discoveries/inventions/innovations/revolutionary designs etc than anywhere else!

Sheer fluke this reached the British military. British design and inovation is second to none. However it is usually buggered up by bad management, political interference  including back handers from US industry.

150k each... no wonder.

"How did Britain, of all places, end up with one of NATO's better weapons systems"

Seems a bit odd to sound surprised that the the country that created the Spitfire, the Mosquito, the Vulcan, broke Enigma (with help), etc, made an effective and good value missile!

@3:35 what's that word?[ *squints at screen*] 😂
