I genuinely do not remember this game being so pixelated. Like, every time you jump to one of the console versions, that's how I remember this one looking. Crazy how 20 years ages it
Your style of video is oddly soothing. Most people just scream and yell when talking about these games, so your more calm tone of voice is very refreshing. You actually talk about the level design too instead of just stating the main mechanics and moving on. Looking forward to more from you in the future.
Finally, a sincere half hour review of a game without cringe humor or odd tangents. A very tightly written, kinetic review that's engaging throughout. Nice!
I really like this video. It feels super streamlined and smooth feeling all the way through. You weave in specifics and broad topics together very well and you didn’t leave any stones unturned. Your monotone voice and script didn’t feel lifeless or cynical but just truthful. Great video that has a totally different vibe than your other channel.
The Star Coin stuff pretty much debuted in Super Mario World with the Dragon Coins, but the collection & reward stuff more specifically started to exist with the Advance versions.
Pipes on the Overworld debuted in Super Mario Bros. 3 😭
World 7 is also my favorite. Something about its aesthetic, the overworld music, the original levels, it's so ethereal.
