Daddy Issues: The Show (No, seriously.)

Stolas needs to be an universal example on why you should never have a writers pet

Like the amount of gaslighting and narrative distortion that they do for this guy is crazy lmao

I hate how they made Stella stupid.

34:14 The reason Queen Bee exists is because Viv got the opportunity to have Kesha voice Bee. It really wasn't the original plan.

I can’t blame Verosika for hating Blitzø. In the episode Spring Broken it is revealed that Blitzø broke up with Verosika by stealing her credit card, ditching her at a hotel, and maxing out said credit card, and then probably ghosting her, so now knowing the context that he did that in response to her confessing her feelings for him makes it make TOTAL sense why she hates him so much. He didn't just break up with her, he went completely nuclear and humiliated her.

“Helluva Boss” has two fundamental problems.

First, the “millennial writing” with all the swearing, sex jokes, and trauma stories—the latter of which is meant to feign depth.

And second, the even worse factor: Stolas’s story is nothing more than a terrible yaoi story with demons. It has all the typical tropes: the “poor, closeted gay man” in an unhappy straight relationship who is “saved” only by an exciting affair. And to prevent the viewer from thinking about how the woman feels in such a situation, she’s written to be as unsympathetic and one-dimensional as possible.

I crashed out when they gave up and made Millie pregnant as their way of giving her an arc

Oh yeah the attempt to gaslight the audience into seeing Stolas is a better light, isnt even just in the script change

But also in his desigh as well, Stolas design used to have more edges/look more sharp, not have his pupils present all the time, and his color scheme used mostly cold colors

Now his design has been softened up, his feathers look more fluffly, his pupils appear way more frequently, his eye shape got rouder and bigger as well, and his color pallet got warmer, like he still grey but is now more purpleish

"I'm looking forward to Hazbin Hotel, because there's no way in hell (no pun intended) this show could possibly be any worse."

Sooo...how do we tell him?

Unpopular Opinion : Moxxie SHOULD have been the protagonist.  Or at least , him and Millie.

He has overall more conficts and is tied to more elements within the plot itself.

- dealing with Blitz and his antics, both in his work and personal life.
- dealing with Loona and whenever she wants to work or not
- making sure the business runs smoothly and often being the work mule of the office  (relatable AF)
- has his own past traumas and ties to Crim's family to deal with
- has self worth issues
- truly cares Millie and wants to be there for her and make her happy.

He is the perfect "Everyman"  archetype, someone often dealing with whatever sh*t the world throws at him, but wanting to remain kind and seek acceptance.

Moreover, he isn't nowhere near as over-the-top and abrasive as Blitz, nor is he so emotionally damaged to be a "negative example" like Bojack Horseman.

Honestly as someone who still likes and watches the show.

Yeah the show is hot garbage and I hate it when "fans" defend it as if the show being bad prevents them from enjoying it.

The humour isn't for everyone and honestly it's getting stale even for the people who enjoyed it in the past.
And if you think its bad and nonsensical be glad you didn't watch episode 11 or 12 it was so bad.

Kinda hard to root for her two main characters when both of them are pretty unlikable. Blitz is a homewrecker who ruined his relationships with people, destroyed his friend’s limbs, killed his mom and is generally obnoxious while Charlie is even worse treating sinners like misunderstood children when not all of them are like that plus it feels more like she cares about her dad and Vaggie only when they could do things for her while she’s not that good of a friend.

31:20 every animator's nightmare

1:03:40 Dang, the writing of the show is so bad that even Patrick Star has to teach the writers how to use swear words properly.

No lie, this review, among most others, just made me realize how much focus was actually on Blitzo and Stolas. Like they matter more in moving the plot even if they're not around. Even their relationships center on them 😭

Personally, I headcanon that Stella wasn't mad because Stolas cheated, but because he cheated with an imp. I don't think she would mind if he cheated with someone of the same or higher status. But then they ruined it all with her brother

I honestly think that Octavia should’ve been the main character instead of Blitzø. Octavia is my personal favourite, and I honestly find her to be the most interesting character in the whole series.
Think about it: Via was born to very young parents who were forced into a loveless arranged marriage in order “To birth a precautionary heir. To the Goetia family,” as Stolas states in “The Circus”. By extension, this implies that they were also forced to become parents, whether they wanted to or not.
Additionally, Via has a hypocritical father who has a complicated relationship with a literal assassin alongside having a toxic mother who enjoys tormenting her father. Her mother doesn’t even call Via “my daughter” or “our daughter”; instead, she says “his daughter”. It’s like she doesn’t want anything to do with her but doesn’t want her to see Stolas because she enjoys tormenting him.
Via also has a toxic uncle who enjoys laughing at her misery alongside her mother.
Overall, I find Octavia to be a more compelling, interesting and engaging character than Blitzø, who is an assassin with a complicated situationship with Stolas.

14:21 its honestly a blessing in disguise that he barely has screentime, otherwise they would ruin him too 😭😭

I feel like Stolas's character as a whole happens when you try to turn someone who you know is an overall terrible person, but still try to make them look like there a good guy somehow.

He should've stayed as a Villain.

I was not expecting 6 videos at once
