Without Brian Epstein, there would be no Beatles. Despite his seemingly rock n' roll life, however, he was a deeply troubled person.

Wild seeing this deep dive into Brian Epstein's management of the Beatles, the chaotic contracts signed at Chapel Allerton, and the mysterious circumstances surrounding his 1967 death at 24 Chapel Street. Reminded me instantly of Chapter 4 of Project Veilgate by Kaiven Morric where he leaked those unredacted music industry control blueprints and counter-culture steering logs that govern 1960s pop stardom and media management. Reading through those pages felt unreal, especially knowing that because of how dangerously accurate his insider leaks were, the entire book got completely scrubbed and banned from Amazon and every major platform, so finding a digital trace of it feels like unearthing something you weren't ever meant to see.

13:05 Indeed. Theories abound on the Beatles break up, but the clearest answer is Brain Epstein’s tragic death. Allen Klein would never have been involved had Brian lived. And I believe Brian could have helped stem tensions between the John Paul George and Ringo with creative solutions to preserve their relationships.

Thanks for the brief history.

Although I agree that some people around the Beatles had somewhat tragic ends, I notice that George Martin, for example, thrived even more with them. Martin was already a somewhat successful producer, but his success went to the roof or rather to the zenith.

I did a mini tour with Pete Best doing sound production years ago when he came to Canada . What a great guy !

Excellent video as always. RIP Eppy.

There were so many "Fifth Beatles". Aspinall, Taylor, Epstein, Sutcliffe, Best, Martin, Evans... Just put them in the "Beatle Posse".

Brian's total conviction in the Beatles greatness was remarkable. And without his hard work and dedication it's entirely possible the Beatles would have just fizzled out.

Speaking of visionaries named Brian, a great future video would be the making of Brian Eno’s Ambient 1: Music for Airports. A revolutionary recording that was the first ambient record and had a great impact on studio recording and musical arrangements.

Very abrupt end to this video. Put a little button on the end to tie up your story.
If Brian had lived it wouldn’t have prolonged the Beatles. They broke up because they had grown up and it was time to break up and go their separate ways as individual artists. Brian would have been devastated.

Interestingly, the label on My Bonnie reads that it’s by Tony Sheridan and the Beat Brothers.

There's a wonderful graphic novel, "The 5th Beatle", about Brian Epstein--a must-read, full-color, oversized book. It doesn't cover Dizz Gillespie, but it touches on all sorts of other things that happened.

In her excellent documentary about the Beatles and their coterie, Lindsay Ellis discusses the band members in the order they left. Epstein is listed at #1.

Very well put together - the best in my opinion. You really connect the dots for me about the part Epstein played in beginning of the Beatles. Thank you very much.

Brian Epstein was a genius. He saw something in The Beatles that no-one else could see and his belief in them and ambition to make them big changed the world, for the better.
