This level of marketing genius will never be duplicated today. With all the technology we have now it’s easy to look something up and tell it’s fake.

Still creepy, after all these years! I think the icing on the cake is the period illustrations of the witch and her crimes, and Ellie Kedward's banishment from the town. Real thought and care went into making this film, and I think that's why it's lasted so long in the public's perception.

Okay, as an archaeologist I'm kind of impressed by the effort put into the bit about excavation to make it look legit.

"Basically it's a pack of lies. Don't believe any of it."

"It's pretty true. A pretty factual book about what really happened here."

We will never experience anything like this again. I was 15 when this came out and I believed it 100%. The rocks being thrown outside the tent and the baby cries in surround sound at the theater were next level terrifying. Especially when I thought it was totally real. I’m so lucky I got to experience this marketing campaign and film.

This documentary is well put together so was the movie .The director has an interesting imagination . Made it look real .

Thank you! I needed this reminder of what true horror films should be. No one will ever be able to beat this type of hype and horror that made people actually believe something so fake is something so real.

They did a fantastic job making this stuff feel like a real documentary...

Be interesting if they made a film based on the 'Blair Witch Cult' tome, centered on the events following Kedward's banishment and the eventual abandonment of Blair.

"I don't believe in ghosts and vampires and communists"🤣🤣🤣

There is so many mock documentaries on the Blair witch out there . They def promoted it well

I loved this documentary, after I saw the Blair Witch film at the theater. I thought at the time that this would have been a perfect film to have shown after the film in the theater, as a double feature. Very well done, and the acting was excellent. It gave some fantastic background material for the film.

The marketing for The Blair Witch Project was GROUNDBREAKING for the time.

It was so well executed that roughly 40% of viewers bekueved they were watching a documentary !

It will never be done again .
I cant think of any roll out / pre release promotion that was this effective .

1:17 "I don't believe in ghosts, vampires and comunists" LMAO

"I dont believe in ghost and vampires and communists."

.....ooook, thank you for your time...

14:41 she wasn't even supposed to be in the movie!! Yet her scene is such a good one. The fact that she and the child had no script and the child tried to cover the mom's mouth as she talks about the witch. The 3 cast members didn't even know she wasn't supposed to be there technically lmao

In my mind, they were taken back in time to before Rustin Parr's house burnt down, as the backpack was underneath undisturbed layers of dirt, mulch, and ash. Either they were taken back in time, or the house was brought forward in time. I loved the film at the time, and still do today as well.

The lengths they went to to make this believable was incredible. The marketed the film perfectly. No wonder it scared the shit out of everyone.

No reason this can't be a TV series even now.

These interviews are what sold Blair Witch... It made it into a believable snuff film
