How much does my life in Munich actually cost?
After breaking down my real cost of living on Samos in Greece, I'm doing the same calculation in Germany.
I live in a 25 m² apartment in Munich and, once I add rent, health insurance, groceries, eating out, coffee, public transport and my phone, my monthly costs come to approximately €3,931.
These are my personal expenses—not average costs for Germany or Munich.
My situation is also unusual because my partner lives in Greece and I maintain parts of my life in both countries.
In this video, I'll show you exactly where the money goes—and explain why some of these German costs continue even when I'm living in Greece.
What surprised you most about these numbers?

And for those of you living in Germany: how does your monthly cost compare?
I'm also going to calculate what it really costs me to maintain a life in Germany AND Greece at the same time. That's where the numbers get particularly interesting.
