We're off exploring more new areas of the great city of London! In this video we'll be heading north to Camden Town to see another popular area of the city we have yet to visit. As we journey along in our usual walk and explore manner, we stumble upon a tourist area, a stunning/expansive park, and stumble upon one of the most expensive neighborhoods in London, and shortly after, one with public low-income housing. We get both sides of the city in this video and have another awesome day exploring.

London is the greenest megalopolis in the world. 47% of it is green, as opposed to 11% for New York City

Camden Market has been absolutely ruined by commercial enterprises moving in and taking over the place. It was far better in the 80's and 90's when it was a more authentic, raw and edgy place to be.

Tips: Richmond - along the river and up Richmond Hill to the park - amazing views. Hampstead - village and the heath. Highgate - cemetery. Primrose Hill - parliament hill fields.

Regent’s Park is named after the Prince Regent. King George III famously suffered with his mental health (‘The Madness of King George’ movie). During George’s periods of ‘insanity’, his eldest son, George Prince of Wales, took over as ruler. He was known as ‘Prince Regent’ (a regent is someone who is in charge when the monarch is indisposed). The period in British history is known as ‘The Regency’, and it’s a period of particular fashion and design (think Jane Austen and Bridgerton).

Eventually, on his father’s death, Prince George became King George IV, arguably one of Britain’s least popular monarchs.

George III was king during the Revolutionary War, and, famously, ‘lost’ America as a British colony.

Those trees have been pollarded. It just a way of pruning them so they don't get over tall.

Camden Lock is not the place it used to be. Today it is a singular business, and few busnesses own many of the franchises. Reducing the range of stores. Back in the 80s their used to be genuine second hand record and clothes shops, even real antique dealers selling renassance art. Today it is one of London's worst tourist traps. Same for Borough market.

Those trees have recently been pollarded which is aggressively trimmed and cut back - they quickly recover and end up looking more as you would expect.

every city in the UK is overflowing with repurposed 18/19th century mill/warehouse buildings. While they are technically historic, they're just normal buildings to us and don't often warrant special attention.

Camden Lock is over priced and over crowded. It used to be a bohemian neighborhood now it is a total grift thanks to gullible visitors. Props to you two for knowing the difference.

Ah guys! The British Library was just around the corner from St Pancras - to the left as you go in there used to be a room where they exhibit some of their more interesting documents. Last time I was there I think they had one of Karl Marx's notebooks out and one of the Dead Sea scrolls.

It’s like two aliens have landed and have no idea seasons are a real thing, they’ve never seen bare trees pollarded and pruned by tree surgeons ready for the burst of spring foliage.

You should definitely take the Uber Boat to visit Greenwich, visit the market and the Painted Hall, walk up to see Canary Wharf from the observatory. Then walk back down, get the DLR from Cutty Sark to Canary Wharf, have a brief look then head back on the Elizabeth line via the roof garden on the station.
