Jurassic Park really had us thinking we could hide by standing still, meanwhile T-Rex had 4K ultra-HD vision and a GPS nose. We are cooked. 💀

A stegosaurus never once saw a tyrannosaurus, in fact the tyrannosaurus lives closer in time to us than to the stegosaurus.

here's a fun fact: the skull you see on the Sue skeleton is not the original skull of Sue, it's just a generic skull that is used as a place holder. the actual skull of Sue is kept separately in its own case that people can look at.

I admire the incredible patience and diligence that archaeologists show in studying our past.

They may not have existed together millions of years ago, but the setting of Jurassic Park was current day. They were all “clones” living together in the 1990s.

A fallacy promulgated by the movie Jurassic Park is that large dinosaurs shook the earth when they walked. Like elephants, they had thick pads of fat on their feet and so that their weight wouldn't shatter their bones. Like elephants, they walked softly on their cushioned feet.

the ultra low frequency sounds that T-Rex ( as well as Elephants ) make is called Infrasound, those are frequencies that are too low for the human ear to detect but yet, they can travels hundreds of miles away because of their super long wavelengths

In Holland in Leiden we have a very complete t rex, it also tells a story of life about 80 years. Fractures and healed injuries, amazing to take in the life it lived. There is also a herd of vijf triceratops there.

I can't overstate how much I respect the disclaimer offered at the beginning of this. Most refreshing! Bravo!

The Fort Worth Children's Museum, as it was called in the 1960s, was a favorite haunt of mine. It was an easy half-mile to get there, though the trip home was 80% uphill. There were several stunning exhibits I remember. The first was a full skeleton re-assembly of one of the large predators resembling but not a T. Rex, and IIRC a display resembling a nest of dinosaur eggs with little ones emerging from the shells. Then there was a full set of Japanese armor from the Samurai era with its mask made in a very scary visage, at least to a ten-year-old. There was the Hall of Texas History with a number of displays showing the tools of life in the Old West era - the Doctor's and Dentists' tools were at least as scary as that Samurai mask! The final display was the Noble Planetarium, where for a modest fee of 50 cents you could sit in a half-round auditorium and watch the sky unfold above, with a science-based commentary by an expert. Museums are important to growing children, and I hope billionaires can be satisfied with their mansions and yachts and just donate to keep those important fossils in public view.

0:19 Don't you mean dinosties?

“Evolution went too far.” What an odd thing to say!

The idea that a tyrannosaurus rex can be part of a private collection of a rich guy is astonishing to me. In Argentina, my country, there is a law regarding this. Fossils don't belong in private hands. They are immediately sent to museums if found by private individuals. You get some money as compensation for your help and can even end up having your name, but it's not yours. It's historical legacy. A couple of months ago a guy in Patagonia found a carnivore dinosaur in his backyard, he used to call it the "bicharraco" (an argentine euphemism for "creature" or "monster") and when he sent it to the museum, he was compensated with money and the dinosaur was named Bicharracosaurus in his honour.

8:55 was not all cloned in the films , so time is not as of the essence?

I just subscribed.   What a great story teller you are!!    Really important details, ethical aspects all roll into an amazing story.   Thank you!

How many dozens of videos have I watched about T Rex specifically and dinosaurs in general?   Yet your video still managed to educate me about many important issues that other presentations ignore.

Shows how wrong Jurassic Park was to depict a complete Velociraptor skeleton.

09:49 I like what you mentioned there 😉 Nice videos by the way. I like your other videos too. Thanks for it all and Keep it up 🙏🏼

12:12 And remember, those are only the animals that fossilized. For all we know, there could be 100x more species of dimosaurs that we'll never know about because they never fossilized 😢.
