The shelves were empty in 2015. For the 27 years prior to that, Japanese people had been steadily declining their whiskey consumption. They stopped producing it because it wasn't selling. And what wasn't produced can't be made later.

Hakushu 12-year-old has returned after 3 years, and Yoichi 10-year-old after 7 years. The shelves are back. However, the prices haven't returned. What will remain on these shelves when next winter comes?
