I don't buy guitars to make money for resale value,I buy them to play them and love my squiers strats. Play my guitar every day gives me joy it's not about what you can sell them for I'm not a music store. Being retired at 60 yrs old is awesome people . Don't worry about the resale vaule just enjoy playing and being above the ground

What's being destroyed is the customer's trust in on-line instrument quality. Just keep in mind that your may get what you pay for, or you may not. Anyone with knowledge of what a professional level instrument should feel and sound like is not going to expect to see that in a $300 guitar.

Fender needs money from gear sales. They have to pay expensive lawyers they need to sue other companies. Those builders make better versions of their guitars than they do. Fender is it's own worst enemy. Since they became a corporation they've become intimidated by investors who want more and more profit every quarter and price gouge the musicians.
