Larry Sanders was as good as it gets. I've just had the joy of watching all six seasons again for probably the fourth or fifth time. It remains genius and so was so nice to find this and see some of the people behind it. RIP Larry, and Rip.
This never gained much traction in the UK but I used to stay up late and watch it. I'm talking 3am slots of the Paramount Channel. I always liked it for it's really mature style. I watched it again as an adult and it's just such a stand-out piece of TV. Unfortunately overshadowed by later sitcoms - but any fan of comedy will eventually come across this and I believe they'll have their minds blown. It holds up so well. Thanks Garry
Garry Shandling. Wow! The man looked like he was gonna freak out on stage from fear or happiness. He was so damn fun to watch. I especially loved Garry discussing his buddy Warren Beaty's process of writing and editing and obsessing over his work and craft, as though it drove Garry mad yet it appears as though Garry was not too dissimilar from Warren. Miss ya Garry. You were one of the great ones if your time. 🙌
My #2 show that even spawned my #1 show, NewsRadio. Inimitable cast, dealing with elitist problems that are weirdly relatable to regular peope. Thanks! This show gets so few documentaries so I really appreciate this upload.
Garry's public/private obsession was a show biz concern. Most of us spend 6 or 7 decades in total anoymity without a single second of publicity. His epiphanies were show biz centric.
