St Mary of Egypt removed her self from temptation for 45 years in the desert. While we can’t do that it’s sometimes best just to remove ourself from things that tempt us if we can.  The Oreo analogy is spot on. We just need to remove our self from similar situations such as not going to bars strip clubs the internet ect

I have realized that a trick to self control is in weaponizing your own laziness towards things you know are bad for you. “I know I want to and I could… but my chair is nice, I’m broke, etc.” kind of silly but it can really work.
