I lived with the Volvo EX60 for a week, here’s what I learned.

I spent a full week living with the new Volvo EX60 P10 AWD Ultra. Not just driving it for a few hours, but actually using it day to day.

So instead of another walk around full of specs and numbers, this video is about the things you only really notice after spending proper time with the car: what surprised me, what annoyed me, what I ended up using every day, how it works as a family car, and whether I’d actually consider buying one myself.

After one week, here’s what I learned.

Thanks for watching,
Thom

Great review - well done👏👍 I have stopped watching car reviews generally, as they all seem to just repeat what their collegues said, and they often make very "firm" statements after just a single press drive. You are actually using the car in daily life, and you are a Volvo owner yourself. In regards to the phone car light show, I know what you mean! My Polestar 3 constantly "woke up" when I was near it; it was like a super clingy labrador... (but generally using the phone as a key is great).

They've even got the proportions right, it looks so good. I always preferred the XC40 over the XC60 as the XC60 just looked awkward. Now with the EX60 they've hit the 'Golden Ratio' in design.

Great review. I like the question/commentary format. Volvo has really capitalized on its EV experience. Definitely the EX60 is on my consideration list.

A great car. I only wish it had a HUD. It would then pretty much tick all my boxes.

The software runs good party because of a good gardware system.. One central Cpu / main frame / instead of a lot of smaller compjters can definetely contribute to the ux being good software-wise

As a senior retired couple looking forward to the EX50 for the US. We are looking for the latest safety tech in a smaller vehicle.

I've driven it and found it to be a fantastic car, absolutely amazing. I read all the positive reviews so I ordered one, I'll get it in a few weeks.

According to the manual you can turn off the automatic unlocking and locking feature, so you need to use the lock button on the wing grip instead. Did that not work?

Phone as key…have been using that for 6 years in my Tesla M3. Thought most EVs had that. Just assumed keyless operation was the norm!

In the EX60 manual, its an instruction how to turn of automatic lock up/locking function, so you open/lock the car witch the door handle.

What drives me crazy is that Volvo still doesn’t offer built in cam recording!! It’s annoying to install 3rd party options.

Had a phone key for 5 years now, would not buy a car without it.

What amazing times...a car works fine for a WHOLE week😅😅😅. A new car shouldn't have any issues for years, and/or 100-150k km.

Great video! Have one on order. Just me, my vife - and the Labrador. So Even though we’re not a big family its great to have loads of spase! We Often have passengers - and they will have mutch better space than in my volvo ex30 twin ultra😊 Our kids and grandkids lives 600km away - so I take it will several comfort rides to visit😊

Phone as a key only sounds gimmicky if you never used a good implementation before. I haven’t carried traditional keys or fobs in over three years. The convenience is unmatched, and I refuse to go back.

Great video, very interested in this car. And the Ex50 if it’s built on the same foundations. One question is how useable the driver information monitor is? It looks tiny, too small for navigation? I use it a lot in my polestar 2 and really don’t like looking at the central screen while driving. Was that an issue for you?

Great video, thanks!
This car seems really interesting.. Now that you've had a full week with this Volvo, what are your thoughts on the driver assistance systems (lane centering, lane change assist, speed adaptation, ease of disabling them, etc.)?
Looking forward to your next video while waiting for my upcoming P10 :p
