I heard it referred to as Barely Diamond and Sorta Pearl and I can't get over how accurate that is.

The fact that BDSP didn't build off of platinum's improvements is truly the biggest crime

BDSP leaned too hard into the faithful remake title. It was painfully easy until the League where you will be destroyed at least once

You know honestly, I just thought I was trash when I got to the elite four. Not once did I stop to look back and realize why I never had to fight the gym leaders more than once

You forgot to mention the fact that completing the regional dex rewards with the shiny charm, but the shiny charm does not effect wild encounters, JUST EGGS.

That Furret walked for nothing

I remember people being so excited for Sinnoh remakes.
And these two released and everybody's hopes were shattered.

Edit: Reminder that a Furret walked for who knows how long just for these games to come out. It essentially wasted its life.

I want to mention the fact that Post Game isn't even available without a First day patch download.
So by the time this game is as old as DPPl and the wifi compatibility is turned off, DPPl will still have more content than their remakes. And you'll never be able to get those items locked in the post game without that patch. You will just talk to that sailor in Snowpoint and he'll say "Sorry we aren't going anywhere!"

This game is so obviously a cash grab taking advantage of people's nostalgia, it's DISGUSTING.

This would actually be a really cool mini series on the channel where Mikey goes in depth about what he likes and doesn’t like about each main series games

Therapist-Ekans roomba isn't real, it can't hurt you.
Ekans Roomba- hovers behind you menacingly

You know they're bad when you just end up playing Platinum again if you're in the Sinnoh mood.

I hate (more than anything) the fact the EXP Share is now something that I cannot turn off. It means I spend almost 0 times with my Pokemon, since they all train quickly and I just use them in a small number of fights

You honestly touched on an aspect I never thought of: It's really funny to see us as adults get bodied by Super Saiyan 3 Cynthia out of nowhere, but like...
Oh god, what is a CHILD who just likes Pokemon supposed to think when Cynthia is not only as infamous as she ever was but FAR WORSE and relentless in trashing them?

The movement being a mess is so true. You know they didn't even thought about how changing it from the originals would affect the game when you could literally skip Candice's gym puzzle by just walking forwards and clipping in between the tiles

the phrase "glaceon was added to the game almost 20 years ago" was NOT a good thing to hear to my bones

This is why i've been clamoring for difficulty options in pokemon games.
Some people like the easy breezy, some people like a bit of a challenge, and some people want cynthia to grind them into the dirt and make them beg for mercy.
BDSP's problem actually highlights a huge problem with the pokemon games as a whole.

13:16 "All you had to do was copy the game! That's what you were doing already!!!" Entirely sums up the whole situation with BDSP. It's like they forgot there was a difference in quality between the three games somehow

20:35 - I'm a 2D artist and I can understand a little bit of what's wrong. For starters, yes, the models' colors and shading are way too bright. That's what's giving the "clay model" feel, but even clay models are better shaded that this. Another thing I'd like to note is that the characters themselves are too static. There's not enough life in their animations. That is what's giving you the lifeless feel of these models. In fact, Sword and Shield AND Scarlet and Violet didn't have this issue (although SWSH was still too bright in the daytime)

My biggest issue is how it flies in the face of how the remakes are made.

RBY -> FRLG in the style of RSE
GSC -> HGSS in the style of DPPt
RSE -> ORAS in the style of XY

Then we go years without a remake, then finally

DPPt -> BDSP in this style off ????? what is this game?
You would have thought MAAAYBE in the style of SM/USUM. Or maybe even in the style of SwSh by that point but instead with got...that thing?!
