being in tech right now is like you are expected to be jack of all trades

1. Pick a real lane to work towards. Not just 'work in tech', but a specific role. Backend Engineer, Frontend Engineer, Full Stack Developer, Product Manager etc., and then details inside those professions too. Which tools you're going to use etc. Learn what roles are about from other people already in them.
2. Make real projects, don't try to be or buddy up with performers, but rather people who are actually trying to learn and own their products/projects
3. Learn how to orchestrate AI to build complete projects. Learn where AI fails, what it doesn't understand about real world applications, and have it generate your code.
4. Work on your communication skills i.e. you can explain what your project is about and what it actually does.

just finished high school aimed to enter a university in computer science to find this. fantastic.

The key of of this video is that the future software engineer isn't just writing code. "They're orchestrating AI systems, tools, and workflows to solve problems at scale".

4:37 talks about how AI is ruining the job market and then does a advertisement for AI

to anyone says it didn’t ruin it just “changed it”, it’s changing it negatively for computer science students and making it harder for them to find a job. Better?

The market has just evolved. In the past, it used to be like you follow the syllabus, get good grades and then comapnies hire you, do the hand holding for a year and get you upto speed. Now, it's just that the syllabus is outdated and you have to pick a path, build projects and you have to do that hand holding phase yourself and it's entirely possible with internet having all tools for it, if you manage to do it, the market will still look great for you.

Great wakeup call! Honestly, I thought my 4.0 GPA and 5 coding languages would magically get me hired… then recruiters asked if I could build a full-stack app 😅 Time to stop studying cars and actually drive the car.

There are more jobs in tech that don't require hardcore technical skills than those that do. So many people don't understand that. Learn a few spoken languages. Get some cultural experience by living/studying/teaching in a different country or working with non-profits etc. Become a well rounded person with an interesting story and you will be more employable than spending years learning hardcore technical skills (unless you are one of the top 5% truly skilled technical minds). Companies hire people. Become an interesting person.

Every job I've ever seen has a requirement for a bachelor's in CS though at least on LinkedIn and Dice. I rarely see a software engineering major requirement so IDK

You said the problem yourself, One senior developer doing 10 junior's work. So That is why companies not hiring more juniors lately. No skill can prepare a junior for this. The truth is there is not much demands anymore like before.

EVERY DAY COMPUTER SCIENCE IS EVOLVING .... IN WORDS SCIENCE IT IS ... HOW EVER THANKS BRO

@X-chess7 3 months ago

Thanks man really needed it. Now the goal is clear and straight forward.

Those who have software degrees too are having difficulties finding a job.

The truth is People are more than job. The number of educated and eligible people have skyrocket. Supply of labour far exceeds the demand of labour.

It is a win for the rich, business and elites. It is a dilemma for the working class

I am a CS PhD (finishing it), and I am telling you: tech is over. I knew it already, so I quit the job market years ago and started my master's. Now I am finishing my PhD, and I will be a professor. I will do some useless research, as most do, just to maintain the job, and that's it.
