When you go out of bounds and find yourself buried in deep mud, getting back out can take a lot more than just a bigger truck.
One Sunday, Carl and Christina headed out with the recovery Jeep and Christina's Xterra to help recover a Jeep Gladiator that had become seriously stuck in deep mud. With the Gladiator buried and the mud continuing to fight every attempt to move it, Carl put his recovery experience to work with a carefully planned rigging setup using an LDP and multiple snatch blocks.
This recovery is a great example of why off-road recovery isn't always about having the biggest recovery vehicle. Understanding the terrain, managing load, choosing the right equipment, and knowing how to work the recovery system can make all the difference.
And because one recovery wasn't enough for the day, Carl and Christina later headed out into the night to recover a Kawasaki SXS that had become stuck at a water crossing near Arizona City. That recovery was considerably simpler - but sometimes experience is what makes a difficult situation look easy.
In this video:
Jeep Gladiator buried in deep mud

Whether you're into Jeep recoveries, mud recoveries, technical winching, or Arizona off-roading, this episode shows what happens when the trail wins - and what it takes to get the vehicle back out.
