Hello! And velcom (not a typo) back to the channel...today we're going to briefly touch on the evolution of everybody's favorite monsters: vampires. Why? Because they're fun and I can. I say "in a nutshell" because this video only goes over some of the biggest points in history, but, in the future, Ido plan on creating a series that goes in a bit deeper.

Now, for the serious part of the comment:
The Romanian "moroi" is more of a soul sucking specter, the ghost of someone who died violently or the spirit of an unbaptized child. If anything, it's basically a Dementor. It's also the root for "nightmare".
The "strigoi" can be either an evil zombie or a living witch, based on the Slavic "striga". Feeds by draining life essence, not necessarily blood. As a witch, can cause plagues.
There's also the "pricolici", which is the basis for the modern werewolf although it feeds like a vampire. They are undead that can transform into giant wolves or dogs, and are said to be able to eat the moon.
9:40 Calling Vlad Tepes a dictator is hilarious. He was actually a voivode, kinda like a warlord, and although born in Transylvania, he was the ruler of Wallachia. He did indeed have draconic rules, but he was a fair ruler, in the medieval context of that period.
10:30 No, "dracul" is the Romanian word for "the Devil", but more of a general Devil, not necessarily Satan. For that we have Satana. "Drac" means "devil", but it's root comes from "draco", which is obviously, the "dragon". Because Order of The Dragon, bla bla. We don't have dragons as mythological creatures, we have the "balaur", which is technically a type of hydra. The creature that inspired the modern dragons the most is actually the Greek Python.
10:45 Incorrect. We don't have the "la" suffix in Romanian. Dracula's construction is actually Slavonic, and it's Dracul+a. In Slavonic, "A" is a gentive suffix meaning "of [that person]".
16:39 The first depiction of a "modern" vampire in a film was actually in 1896, in "Le Manoir du Diable", or "Devil's Mansion". "The Vampire" is not an adaptation of Kipling's poem, but merely inspired by it, and also not a "vampire" movie but a "vamp" movie. The first feature-length movie is "The Afterlife Wanderer", a Russian film from 1915. "Nosferatu" is technically the third vampire film, and the second feature-length vampire movie ever made.
18:26 There're one more series and a couple of movies in between the original Dark Shadows and the Burton movie.
P.S. You left out a lot of vampire and vampire-themed movies (and even anime), that are way better than most of the ones you mentioned. But I guess you were appealing to the mainstream audience, so I'll let this one slide.
P.P.S. What does BJ stand for? Blowjob, Big Jugs, By Jupiter, Bon Jovi, Billie Jean, Black Jack, Bad Jokes?
P.P.P.S. After you put those teeth, you started sounding like a weird Southern US version of Alyssa Milano.
