I really appreciated your commentary on this, thank you for using the correct terms. Rape is not sex. Words have meaning.

It’s heartwarming to see Fiona Gallagher found her true calling after leaving Chicago and all those damn kids behind.

I've been furious since I was 13. Thank you for doing this review. This show made me furious and enraged, especially now in 2026 . It happened to me for 6 years in the 80's and at 62 ,I am still angry.

Alden being loyal af

"Your mom was found dead in the hospice by a nurse this morning. I think Catherine did it. What do you think about it?"

"No ones perfect"

I also sort of love how Catherine followed through on marrying Alden, even from Prison. So wholesome!

I loved how into stickers and glittery things and anything a 11-15 year girl would stock up on. She didn't get to be a regular girl so she surrounds herself with the aesthetic. My heart broke a little every time she rocked out to Rhianna's We Found Love. You just know that was Catherine and Isabella's song.

As a victim and survivor, this show was extremely cathartic for me. I watched it with my cis male partner who is amazing and took it upon himself to independently rewatch and look up things and ask me questions. We had a lot of deep talks while watching and our relationship is even better now. Thank you for the way in which you talk about these shows and these atrocities. It means a lot to me.

13:57 a common trauma response is an attempt to ‘normalize’ the behavior that traumatized the victim, while they are the ones in control. It’s the coping mechanism that is most often weaponized to blame the victim and is why victims of SA will often try to act like nothing happened with the offender, with friendly communication, bc they haven’t processed what happened yet. That detail tells me the writers have personal experience or that they consulted experts bc it makes perfect sense. The brain wants what is familiar, even when the individual doesn’t, they feel compelled to perform certain actions- to soothe their brain.

fr as you were explaining it it's so disgusting how there is so many stories, real and fictional, of police/law corruption, and NOTHING. HAPPENS.

I hate that this is so believable. and that so many in the story are getting away with things. Just like those irl. I'm so sick

Thank you for explaining this, I would be to FURIOUS to actually watch

I felt like she was ok killing Beck because Becky started a sexual relationship with her from a higher power dynamic. If it was so easy for Catherine to do initiate with a look, it's likely she's abused that position before. She ends up in the same category as the traffickers in Catherine's mind so she takes out a future threat to vulnerable women.

I love how against men you are as a man who is attracted to men <3 big big mood

I have been furious for the majority of my life precisely due to the reality of this show. A fantastic synopsis of the show. Appreciate you

Yesssss! I wanted this so much -- the show is so good and timely. Women are angry, and we want media that brings some catharsis.

Regarding Becky: although I don’t think she deserved to die, I wouldn’t classify her as completely innocent. She was an employee at a safe home for women who’ve been trafficked/scarred from the sex work industry and should absolutely have not been engaging with any of the victims sexually under any circumstances. We know that Catherine is manipulating her to blackmail her, but Becky didn’t know that when she slept with Catherine. These women are extremely vulnerable and an employee sleeping with them is not only highly unprofessional, but it’s also morally unsound due to the power dynamics. Obviously she’s not even CLOSE to the same realm as the men in the show, but that’s just my two cents.

I thought everyone made the assumption that her kink came from her abusive relationship. I think her fightibg back is her way to gaining back power.

The scene where Alice chews her step sister out was so cathartic and a relief. The audacity and entitlement to blame Alice and then dry beg for a relationship was so insensitive.

I loved that she killed Hal like that, I mean he turned a blind eye all these years, now it's literal.

@EdgarAIlanHoe 2 weeks ago

14:03 I highly recommend watching interviews with the creator & actors that expand on this. I believe the fighting is something Alice started doing after leaving her abuser. It’s similar to certain situations where victims of SA may cope with trauma with hyper sexuality; which opposes the typical portrayal of survivors.

Very nuanced portrayal in my opinion. God I love this show

This has been the best surprise show of the year. Never imagined this coming out of nowhere to hit so hard.

“It’s ultimately impossible to do the right thing when doing the right thing requires you to jump through hoops built by bad people. The very same people you’re trying to take down.”

Damn.

PS - Alden’s a badass!
